RGL crashes

After executing
library(rgl)
example(rgl)
and resizing the graph window, R crashes witrh the following message:
drmRadeonCmdBuffer: -22. Kernel failed to parse or rejected command
stream. See dmesg for more info.
from dmesg:
[ 7349.471959] [drm:r100_cs_track_check] *ERROR* [drm] Buffer too small
for color buffer 0 (need 413696 have 262144) !
