Problems with rpcclient
...up as a domain member,
there is no root account in the domain either. I am using a account
designated as printadmin to try this. I did try adding root just for
kicks, but I get the same thing. Does rpcclient works properly when
samba is a domain member (the PDC is W2K)?

sysconfdir
I compiled samba 3.0.0 with the following configure options:
./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc/samba --with-privatedir=/etc/
samba/private --with-ldap --with-ads --with-krb5=/usr --with-smbmount
--without-sys-quotas
The problem is that it seems to disregard the sysconfdir param and looks for
the smb.conf file in /usr/lib/. Any help?
Thanks

cupsd and winbind ...
I know this is only tangential to samba, but ...
If in my cupsd.conf, should I be able to do something like:
<Location /admin>
AuthType Basic
AuthClass Group
AuthGroupName DOMAIN+Domain\ Admins
</Location>
I would think giving cupsd domain credentials which have membership in
the proper group would authenticate you ... it isn't working .. yet
"getent group" shows all

cupsaddsmb / rpcclient problems ...
Hi,
I'm having a strange problem with cupsaddsmb ... it fails whenever I
try to use it while using the rpcclient command ... the "addriver"
command just fails (like below). Does anyone know what is wrong with
the command cupsaddsmb is passing to rpcclient? Adding drivers
through the windows point and print works fine ... this is samba
2.2.8a, Windows PDC. As far as I can tell,

Just a thought, all this "swen" stuff, this list
It seems anyone posting to this list gets a deluge (and I mean a
deluge) of virus infected windows garbage. It's basically enough to
ruin any email address you sign up to the list with; it doesn't matter
if you have a virus scanner integrated with your MTA, I really don't
want to see 200 virus notifications a day because i posted to this
list. I have been getting about 20MB of swen a
