No window decorations with latest CVS/window shading
...o the latest CVS, my window decorations disappear. I'm running
Gnome 2.15.2 under Gentoo, so it's possible this is some interaction with
the newest gtk+ or other Gnome libraries. Gnome-window-decorator is running
and the decoration plugin is loaded.
I first had this problem with the latest quinnstorm, so I switched to the
latest CVS for fdo compiz, removing quinnstorm-specific plugins from
active_plugins, and got the same problem. Reverting to CVS from a 6/6 (prior
to window shading), either fdo or quinnstorm, eliminates this problem.
I looked for a configure option for disabling window shadin...

Rotate/edge-flip and jumping mouse pointer
Hi,
I'm using running Xgl/compiz on Gentoo/AMD64/2006.0, with
xgl-0.0.1_p20060418 and compiz-quinnstorm-0.0.9.3 on Gnome 2.14.
I love the edge-flip feature of rotate, but I sometimes have a problem
where, after edge-flipping the mouse pointer seems to jump to the opposite
window edge which starts rotating the cube to the next desktop, so I start
moving the pointer back, whereupon it jumps back to wh...

AIGLX Support with nVidia 9625 Drivers
...dia 9625 Drivers,
trying to get Compiz to work with AIGLX... simply running 'compiz', or
even with the addition of any options other than version, causes
compiz to detect that it is indeed not XGL, and then segmentation
faults... please note that I have only currently tried this with
Compiz-Quinnstorm (the latest package available for Gentoo). Any help
is appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Capso

Gnome-panel Window List Features
I just noticed that it's not currently possible to activate some of the
features (Always On Top, On All Workspaces, Reset Transparency) by
right-clicking the application's name in the window list. I'm not sure
how 'official' these features are - I'm using the Ubuntu QuinnStorm debs
on AIGLX - but it seems like a bit of an oversight in dealing with
borderless windows like XMMS or Beep, where there's currently no
apparent way to pin them on top.
Other than that small issue, I have to say I'm impressed with this
project's pace; a few weeks ago compiz on aiglx w...

Plugin-suggestion
Hi!
I got an idea for a plugin to compiz. When you pull a window very fast
(or, pull + any key) you will be able to throw the window to another
workspace, without change to it. The effect could be a sliding window or
something like that. I and some other on swedish IRC-channels thinks the
plugin could be very useful. For example if a IM-window pops up and you
don't have time to answer right

Skydome not working
Hi all,
I've searched all over to the answer for this but no luck. In short, skydome doesn't seem to be working, I only have a black background. Skydome is pointing at the following:
$ file plaza.png
plaza.png: PNG image data, 2048 x 1024, 8-bit/color RGB, non-interlaced
In the "Gnome Compiz Preferences" app, on the "Workspaces" tab, under "Cube", I

window decorations explained and how to move forward
The window decoration system in compiz is implemented using a decoration
plugin and a separate window decoration drawing application (a
decorator). The decorator is drawing window decorations to minimal sized
pixmaps. These pixmaps along with sets of coordinates which maps the
pixmaps to windows are communicated back to the decorator plugin through
a property on the client window. The coordinates

Include option type in gconf schema
I am writing a configuration front end for the compiz gconf plugin at the
moment, but it's proving harder than it should be because gconf does not
record what type of compiz option the key is. For example, say i want a
color picker for each color option the only way I can tell with gconf if it
is color is if it has a # at the beginning, but there could be string
option which also have a # at
