I have a samba server acting as a domain controller. Is there a way that I can Have a script that delete the shortcuts on the desktop,quicklaunch and startmenu for Internet Exploder. At the same time installing Mozilla Fire Fox. Maybe like a little vbscript or something that gets ran from the server when they login. Thanks

incompatibility between roaming profiles and winxp clients that didn't create them
...) and while I can login as any of the domain users, neither machine successfully loads the user's roaming profile. But it doesn't complain about anything either! The weird thing is that some desktop configuration stuff just plain doesn't work. For instance, any attempt to enable the quicklaunch menu on the taskbar is ignored (quicklaunch is enabled in the roaming profile). Ditto for enabling 'auto-hide' for the task bar. Also, I can change theme attributes for the desktop (colors, etc..) and they'll act like they've changed, but won't persist across a login/logout...

copy existing users quick launch problem
Hi, I've set up 2 test servers using ldap samba with roaming profiles, then redirected the documents, app data, and desktop to the samba server. Everything is poised to go online and working as it should. However, I've one little hang-up. When I use the windows wizard and copy and existing users profile. I can not open quick launch. Later... Well, I found that when wine installed Windows, it did not install the "standard" fonts, like Ariel or Times. So when I copied them to the wine version of Windows, the "hunt for fonts" was reduced to two... and I know which they are, so eventually... Anyway, that problem cleared up. But one more thing. ZFS Scalability/performance
Hello, I''m quite interested in ZFS, like everybody else I suppose, and am about to install FBSD with ZFS. On that note, i have a different first question to start with. I personally am a Linux fanboy, and would love to see/use ZFS on linux. I assume that I can use those ZFS disks later with any os that can work/recognizes ZFS correct? e.g. I can install/setup ZFS in FBSD, and later use
