Dovecot docker auto-responder - delegate to external SMTP
...P 192.168.10.22
How do I have to configure dovecot so that it delegates all outgoing
(autoresponder) mails to the SMTP on IP 192.168.10.22.
The postfix image is configured in a way that certain IPs are allowed to
send mails without authentication. So on postfix side I am set.
Currently I did a quickfix: I added postfix to dovecot image and
configured postfix to use the relayhost 192.168.10.22 for mailing. This
works, still I would prefer having the dovecot image not containing an
postfix SMTP.
Thanks
Tom

VoIP gateway (2 FXO, 2 FXS)
...blem arises when we call the office pstn number (pstn
port connected to FXO port of ovislink box).
We get an internal dialtone (of the ovislink), and when the enter a
number, it also doesn't send the auth details in the SIP INVITE packet it
sends to SER.
- Problem #2
As a 'quickfix' I configured SER to NOT look at the auth details,
and just process the call anyway.
When the call is answered, and SER sends the SIP/2.0 200 OK, the
Ovislink does NOT send the ACK (but I can see the incoming OK packet
in the ovislink console).
Quite buggy indeed.. or i'm mis...

PuppetDatabase - collection "yes", anything in db "no"
Hi there!
I´m trying to get my PuppetmasterDB running.
Problem is, though I´m not getting any errors from the puppetmaster
there is nothing stored in the database, not even tables are created. I
tried "puppetmasterd --dbmigrate", didn´t help either.
rails.log is kinda empty too..
Thing is: it kinda works anyway, there is just nothing stored in the DB

sieve_extprograms - double linebreaks at filtering
Hello List,
i have a problem when using sieve-plugin sieve_extprograms. I use
dovecot 2.2.18 and bundled pigeonhole 0.4.6 (Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS)
i have enabled sieve_extprograms and vnd.dovecot.filter to send mail to
user-defined script and get changed content back.
My script previously was used with procmail and is working fine.
Using same script with vnd.dovecot.filter leads to odd behavior.

pp grammar test-files?
Hi,
I am working on some tools that read and write pp files, and I wonder
if there are some pp files available somewhere that can be used to test
a parser.
I am especially interested in if there are some tests written that
capture invalid syntax.

dsync backup public namespace - how?
Hello,
We just celebrated the launch of our new mailserver setup (Dovecot and Postfix). Really nice!
Now we want to change our quickfix backup with rsync to dsync.
For mailder backup of users this was an easy task:
dsync -v -f -u "${user}" backup "maildir:${destination}" (local file path destination)
We use many public folder with ACL and now we are wondering how we can backup these folder in a similar manner...

Ideas?

[Resolved] Found a way of allowing pam_ldap users (with pam_groupdn or pam_check_host_attr restrictions), AND allowing local root authentication, without pam_unix.so taking presense due to getpwent() returns ldap-users

You want only LDAP users, and no local root-account, this works:
account sufficient /usr/local/lib/pam_ldap.so
account required pam_login_access.so
account required pam_deny.so
This is what I ended up as a quickfix, until pam_unix.so is playing
right again:

account sufficient /usr/local/lib/pam_ldap.so
account required pam_login_access.so
account required /usr/local/lib/pam_require.so root

Error in dispatch.fcgi...
Yesterday, our of nothing my server went down...
Rails application failed to start properly
Imediately i started checking my logs and found quickly that something
was wrong with the dispatch.fcgi or its function.
I use FCGI, and it had been working perfectly with Apache 2.0.55, MySQL
5.0, Ruby 1.8.2 and Rails 1.1.2.
What really got me wondering was that I did nothing. One day it worked

/etc/ssl/certs/dovecot.pem erased by OpenSuse's update mechanism
Why not /etc/dovecot/private? That's where I put my dovecot certs. Dovecot's needs are a bit different from other software, and so it is unclear whether the files won't be unique to it. For example, I haven't seen the following before I read it on the Dovecot wiki:
"The CA file should contain the certificate(s) followed by the matching CRL(s). Note that the CRLs are required
