Driver for Logitech QuickCam E2500 series webcam
Does anybody know where I can find a driver for a Logitech E2500 webcam. I'm running CentOS 5 on my desktop and want to add a webcam for skype use. If I can yum install a driver from one of the repos that would be great. Andy

Zoom....
Hi, folks, Updated CentOS 7 the other day. Updated zoom last night. Ancient (15 yr old) USB camera, Logitech QuickCam Express. If I run LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib64/libv4l/v4l2convert.so cheese, I get video. Zoom, with or without the LD_PRELOAD - no video. I've tried stracing zoom, and created a file /etc/ld.so.preload, with the contents of /usr/lib64/libv4l/v4l2convert.so, and in strace, I see it loading it,...

video problems
I've got an ancient USB videocam (QuickCam Express, yes, 15 years old). I got it working under C7, after I removed the default loaded gspca_spca561, and replaced it with the previous driver, gspca_spca508. It also needed zc3xx. Then I updated and rebooted my system a couple of days ago, and now no /dev/video, no errors.... Any clues?...

Publishing a webcam on a web page?
This talk of cameras has reminded me of a problem I've not yet been able to solve. I have a Logitech Communicate STX ( ID 046d:08ad Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Communicate STX ) This seems to work under v4l on CentOS 5.4. If I load xawtv (from rpmforge) then I can view the image from the camera. But what I'd like to be able to do is have the image appear on a web page (maybe streaming video or maybe multi-part image using old-fashioned server-push...

No need to fiddle with LD_PRELOAD and the like. +1 on that. I've just installed Skype from Flatpak on my workstation. Not only does it work out

HardwareList - webcams
...Driver used, minimal install details (source, RPM etc) Applications tested with Anything else relevant and maybe split into 3 sections for high-end, mid-range and entry-level webcams. For reference (and those searching on google who may find this), I could get things started with the Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 which works on CentOS5 with the uvc driver (compiled from the latest source tarball), tested with Skype. Karanbir also mentioned on IRC that he'd had success with a Philips SPC 900NC. Thoughts/objections?

Silkroad Online
QUESTION: Did Wine do an update around July 31st? Or is this a problem with Silkroad? Ever since an Update on July 31st on Silkroad I haven't been able to play that game. I open up the client and I get to the start-up screen, and when I select start, hackshield pro will come up like it's supposed to, but when it's disappears, I'll be stuck at the start up window without a start

Attempts at live streaming (long)
...2.0 on the remote server and compiled libtheora1.0alpha4 to make it work with Theora streaming. The first approach I tried was to use ffmpeg2theroa from http://www.v2v.cc/~j/ffmpeg2theora/. The first problem I encountered was that I didn't have a DV video source. I had a v4l source of either a Quickcam on my laptop or a Hauppage on the actual encoding machine. I eventually got some life out of the system by using the following combination of commands... ffmpeg -target pal-vcd - |\ ffmpeg2theora -a 0 -v 0 -x 320 -y 240 -o /dev/stdout - |\ oggfwd www.myicecastserver.org 8000 PASSWORD /theora.o...

SC2, Kubuntu 11.04, Can't Create AI Games & No Maps in List
Hello; I researched the wine install of SC2 and I was able to correctly mount my DVD drive to read the hidden files on the UDF optical drive. That helped a lot. The install ran perfectly and the patches downloaded/installed with no problems noted. I can now run SC2, but when I go to single person the screen changes to the one with a list of maps on which I should be able to create a game, but
