r2q
Hi...
I''m working with HTB, and have a question...
what happen if I create a class of "8kbit" ??
I get a log :
"HTB: quantum of class .... is small. Consider r2q change"
but, my r2q=1 I can''t reduce that variable...

Thank you!

Big problem :(((((
Hello!
I have an internet connection of 64kbps garanteed in a channel of 256kbps. On this connection the metropolitan speed is 10Mbps and in the provider''s network the speed is 100Mbps.
I have a few clients behind my linux box and i want to set up some limitations because some of them are using it irrational.
I am marking the packets with 0 for internet; 1 for metropolitan 2 for

Hi,
I''m getting this warning/error in /var/log/messages:

Its a big deal? What should I do?

quantum
Dear all,
I''m new to traffic shapping although i have gone through marking and HTB queueing but i felt trouble in tc filter . I wonder if any one give me the hints about quantum or r2q.
i guess quantum is used when two class has same prio and rate and want to give first priority between them and control the borrowing traffic. It should be set more than MTU too. But my

R2Q
Hello again,
I need to change the R2Q for my script, as setting the quantum manually for
each class is painful. Can you tell me exactly where to set R2Q = x?
I get syntax errors all the time. Should it be specified for each class? I
do not know where to place this setting...
Thanks in advance,
Vlad Mihai

Ho do i manage NAT''ed egress bandwidht?
Hi,
I have a Debian based NAT router. How can I manage upstream egress
bandwidth based on the LAN ipadress in the network below? My goal is
that host1 get a minumum of 10Mbit up/down and host2 gets a minimum of
90Mbit up/down, both max 100Mbit up/down?

Help me in creating a domain...
Hi.
I'm trying to build a nt domain with samba 3.0.5 (only samba, no native
nt/xp servers), but I cannot succeed. I'm following this
http://thegoldenear.org/toolbox/unices/samba/samba-setup.html because I
find the samba documentation not so clear. It's for samba 2, but it must
be similar to samba 3... This is what I did:

why isn''t 1:1 getting the traffic? [filter question]
With the below script, whenever I ping 10.0.16.10 (which matches the
only filter I have), traffic still get''s sent to the default 1:2 class
instead of 1:1 and I don''t know why... Any hints?

How to calculate HTB quantum
Hello all,
I have a question about the quantum parameter of a HTB class:
Is there a formula to calculate the quantum parameter of a class,
having the rate and ceil as parameters?
Sometimes, if I omit putting the quantum parameter for a class, I get
a message like "HTB: quantum of class ..... is big/small. Consider r2q
change" and shaping doesn''t work very smooth sometimes.

htb quantum/r2q problem/question
hello,
i have a config that is with a large domain of rate, from 2kb to 40Mb
and i have some problems with i don''t know how to deal with.
so here are some classes 2 with q=1000, one with q 200000 and one with
q=6400, all have been calculated by htb, in the code i speficien just
rate, ceil, no quantum, no r2q, no bursts

Warnings with and without r2q
Hi everyone,
My HTB script is showing me those "r2q change" warnings. I read that I
should test with r2q values to gain accuracy and stop the warnings but I
made some tests with r2q and with burst and I still get the warnings. Any
ideas on this issue will be very helpful. The script seems to be working as
the bandwidth for the IPs is being shaped.
The NIC works at 100mbit and the

I was very thrilled when I found openstack module since I am in

However I was not able to use it due to the "Could not find declared class

There is no quantum module available as part of the openstack module
installation

HTB
Hello,
I have problems with htb. The problem is that when I download
any file via shaper with htb, the traffic is very dinamic,
it jumps, for example:
if i have set ceil = 128kbit the results that it jumps from 112kbps
to 144kbps or smth like that maybe its not very bad, but when the
traffic drops down to 40kbps or less and then after 1 or 2 seconds
jumps to 144kbps, its bad :-( and it is often.

setting quantum values
Hi,
when we add a class we get an error "HTB Quantum too small,or too big"
i read in docum.org that we need to set the quantun value which should be >1500 and <60000.
but i need to add classes with diff type of rates.
eg : Min : 32 kbit and Max : 512 kbit.
now in this case how do i set my quantum value which satifies all types of rates.
Pls let me know,This is very urgent for
