...is in glusterfs, although I didn't find detailed documentation about it. (I'm using glusterfs 3.10.8)
So my question is: can I really use glusterfs to do failover in the way described below, or am I misusing glusterfs? (and potentially corrupting my data?)
My setup is: I have two servers (qlogin and gluster2) that access a shared SAN storage. Both servers connect to the same SAN (SAS multipath) and I implement locking via lvm2 and sanlock, so I can mount the same storage on either server.
The idea is that normally each server serves one brick, but in case one server fails, the other serve...

ctrl-c doesn''t work in domU consoles
Hey,
I''ve installed Xen 3.0 on a freshly installed Debian Sarge. dom0 is
working nicely (kernel 2.6.12.6-xen0). Then I created a domU, again with
Debian Sarge, booting Xen''s vmlinuz-2.6.12-xenU. Unfortunately ctrl-c
does not work in the domU''s console, neither if I create the domU
with "xm create -c ..." nor if I attach to it later. It doesn''t matter

R and sun gridengine
Hi
I am looking for assistance with setting up R under Sun grid engine 6
(6.0-update7). I would like to set up transparent interactive access
to R using either a qlogin or qrsh solution. While it basically works
using either method, I reach the same sticking point. There seems
to be an issue with signalling or something, as R works ok until a
non-R command is typed in - eg "blah" - at which point the remote
session is terminated (note: i am using ssh a...

mkdir -p, cp -R fails
...to change transport from rdma to tcp. (Changing the transport works, but the error persists.)
I'd be grateful for some insight.
I have small test system that still runs on glusterfs 3.12.3, where everything works fine.
best wishes,
Stefan

Package parallel left orphan processes, how to clean-up?
...plements functions with nCores for
speed-up. The functions work fine, but I found out that the children
processes were not terminated, they still hold memory, and new command
will start up new children processes. So if I don't manually kill those
orphan processes, they will cause problem. I was qlogin to SGE cluster
node to run R. From our administrator, I heard that at least another R
package zinba, which based on parallel too, met the same problem. I tried
to use functions from multicore, such as kill(children()) and collect(),
they just return NULL, but didn't do anything. I was wondering...
