Non x86 architectures
I'm looking for advice on network boot loaders for non x86 systems, in
particular PPC-64, IA64 and AMD-64.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Hide unreadable, strange problem
The "hide unreadable = yes" option gives strange results with samba 3.x.
Everything works fine when the server runs as a domain controller. Users
see the directories they are supposed to (unix group permission) in the
share. Turning off domain control and setting "security = DOMAIN",
however, hides every directory in the share unless you are an admin user.

Problems loading printer list using Samba 2.2.7a with CUPS
I am using Samba to successfully load the printer list directly from
CUPS with one fairly significant caveat.
If a printer is added to CUPS while Samba is running there is apparently
nothing I can do to have it visibly appear when doing a list of the
services in Samba (such as with "smbclient -L"). This is also a problem
if Samba starts before CUPS in the boot sequence.

Some DNAT''s work, some don''t
We''ve just upgraded to a new firewall machine, and a new version of
Shorewall. We''re now on 2.04; previous version was 1.3.9b (!). So I''m
pretty sure whatever problems we''re having are related to the big
version jump.
We''re using config files that exactly match our old (working)
configuration (IOW, these are things which _were_ working on the old

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list.
I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without
modifications.
How did I try it?
Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock )
Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a
rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee
prep-out.log
The build failed at the end:
