Edit permissions: quick cleanup of QaWiki/AutomatedTests
...email ended up with an "In-Reply-To" header for an existing thread...most odd. Wiki username: SteveBarnes As per the guidelines on: http://wiki.centos.org/Contribute#head-42b3d8e26400a106851a61aebe5c2cca54dd79e5 I'd like to tidy up this page a bit: http://wiki.centos.org/QaWiki/AutomatedTests I used it as the basis for developing my test scripts; the formatting for the code examples is a little wonky so I thought I'd tidy it up so others can read the snippets easier. Cheers Steve

CentOS wiki - QA related data/activities
...> No QA list though on page below. > > https://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/ That wiki page is heavily outdated. Things have changed a lot in the last couple of years and the wiki pages were not updated accordingly. In particular the QA mailing list is no longer used. > > * QaWiki section linked below is very out of date. Is it and the team active? > > https://wiki.centos.org/QaWiki You are right on this one. Sooner or later "someone" should fix this page, too :) Regards, ??? ??? Manuel

Container Pipeline placeholder
Hi, I've created http://wiki.centos.org/ContainerPipleline as a placeholder to start populating about the pipeline. Although this will run from ci.centos.org hosted infra ( http://wiki.centos.org/QaWiki/CI ) - and it will form a sort of ecocystem test + release process, I think it deserves scope beyond being just under the CI namespace. - KB -- Karanbir Singh, Project Lead, The CentOS Project +44-207-0999389 | http://www.centos.org/ | twitter.com/CentOS GnuPG Key : http://www.karan.org/publicke...

Status of PostgreSQL and PHP in Testing
Dear CentOS developers I would like to have ask some questions about the PostgreSQL and PHP packages in the current Testing repository for CentOS 5. In http://wiki.centos.org/QaWiki/TestingRepo there is a note, that the testing period is about 3 weeks. Currently, the PostgreSQL and PHP packages in http://dev.centos.org/centos/5/testing/SRPMS were created in September 08. Do the developers need more feedback about the packages in testing? Is there something (a wiki page, a...

CentOS Pre Release Updates CI tests
...sts make major changes on the machine where they are run .. so they are *DESTRUCTIVE* to that environment and should only be used on machines specifically built for testing that can be rebuilt/reinstalled after the tests complete. Info on how to use t_functional is here: http://wiki.centos.org/QaWiki/AutomatedTests/WritingTests/t_functional We will accept new tests and changes that make sense via github with discussions about the changes taking place on the CentOS-Devel mailing list. If there is a nagging issue that you want tested for, feel free to fork t_functional and create tests to make...

CentOS CI Testing Prior to Releasing Packages
...it would be against the os and updates repositories. Or if we release fasttrack package, it would be os, updates, fasttrack repositories. We also run this test suite on the final OS repository during point release upgrades. Here is information on the t_functional suite. https://wiki.centos.org/QaWiki/AutomatedTests/WritingTests/t_functional And here is where I actually run the suite prior to releasing updates: https://ci.centos.org/view/CentOS-Core/ The reason I bring this up is we will accept updates to the tests to check for things that should be tested prior to release of a repository....

VIA C3 support for CentOS 5? (i586 kernel)
Hi all. Decided to upgrade an old Slackware 10 box I had. The box is running a VIA C3 processor and apparently doesn't support the cmov extension that most i686 processors do. As a result I cannot install CentOS 5. I discovered a few posts from way back in April: http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos/2007-April/079352.html

These tests are important : we run then every time there is a new iso, new image, new updates etc ready to be released by the project. Getting good and widespread coverage of these tests means that we all end up getting more trustworthy updates...
