PXA270 and it's framebuffer - 2700G OpenGL ES
...sible (framebuffer = "VRAM" - video memory), only the memory that "LCD controllers" can utilize seem to be only 'normal' RAM (SDRAM) in New Zealand, no one seem to have ever even heard of anything like bumstix, the closes thing i can buy is DELL pda, full device with PXA270, but its $800 and doesnt have 2700G so i oredered one of these from australia, i hope ill have it in a week CX-X270 http://www.compulab.co.il/x270/html/x270-cm-datasheet.htm one of my goals now is to make Linux based OS that will work just the same if you boot it on PC, laptop, mobile phone or a...

FS corruption? bogus i_mode
Hello, I am doing some testing on a PXA270 based processor (on a single board computer) which makes the processor vulnerable to bit flips. One such bit flips seems to have corrupted the file system. The debug port on the board (it is a single board computer) had the following message when i think the FS corruption occured : <7>ini...

Speex under CE
...ed point code doesn't compile due to the long long undefined type. In any way, the fixed point version take more time that float version on a standard Pentium. With the float version, the CPU taken to encode a wav file is 630%. It takes 240 seconds to encode a file of 40 seconds on an Intel PXA270 processor at 624 MHz. Did you know if an optimized version for Windows CE platform exists (free or not free)? Thanks for your help. [LLVMdev] LLVM Expansions
perhaps one should ask why a compiler has not compiled itself to binary and requires a 3rd party compiler to exist. Someone please send me lli that works on a pxa270 (which has never been tested?) and make sure it runs in PocketPC(win) so I dont have to wait another 20 hours to compile a damned compiler. Speex realtime encoding/decoding "Real world" usage for Windows Mobile / Symbian device
...f the people who are convinced that Speex is unable to run on "mobile" platforms. But I was curious with this issue again because of this thread so I decided to have it another go. And my conclusion so far, yes it can (!). I can get good quality voice call on my PDA (PocketPC 2003, Intel PXA270 312 MHz). Turns out that this has been my mistake with setting both Speex quality/complexity value and the compiler optimization settings. I apologize to Jean-Marc and the speex community if speex got bad publication because of my software. So my settings now (I use embeded Visual C++ 4 latest SP)...

question regarding compression %
...because of this and also I think that I may have increased the buffer already to 4608. However, I will do some additional testing. The cpu's used are in the ARM family. Xscale (PXA255) as found on the hp 5100/5500 series and 2200 series. The best performer right now is the Dell X50v 624mHz(PXA270), again same processor family. Because this is programmed I/O, media writes contribute largely to cpu utilization. FLAC helps, but it is a trade-off between lowering the amount of data written and the increased cpu requirements for conversion. Gordon > > From: Josh Coalson <xflac@yahoo...

XEN ports to ARM architectures
Dear all Does anybody have any information about ongoing projects towards the port of XEN on ARM architectures? We aim at starting a port to the XScale/PXA270 architecture in the coming months and I would like to know if we could benefit from current results; I know that Samsung performed some work along the i.MX21 architecture but so far I wasn''t able to get any inputs from them, even no answer to our mails. Wouldn''t it make sense to...

Port of XEN on ARM architectures
Hi everyone, Just a short notice to inform that a new mailing list (XEN-ARM) has recently been created in order to gather and to stimulate discussions around the port of XEN on ARM architectures. We''re currently working on the port of XEN on a PXA270 based board, but we are interested in the port to the i.MX21 Freescale processor. Most activities around the port on our side will start from the beginning of September although we already started the migration. We will report the state of our work soon. Look forward to reading news there! Chee...

Asterisk to Linphone sound playback delay, and then choppy
Hi, I've got this PXA270 board set-up with Linphone 1.2.0 and am trying to get linphonec to work with Asterisk. I have the echo test working, but when I dial in to this, to voicemail or anything else using Playback() to play a sample, I hear nothing for ages (10-15 secs) and then little sections. With the echo test, I...

Speex realtime encoding/decoding "Real world" usage for Windows Mobile / Symbian device
Dear all, i am currently evaluating which codec to be used for a "very narrowband" voice communication system (using either VoIP either GSM CSD) on mobile devices running Windows Mobile and Symbian OS. I had experience in using AMR-NB 4.75 with VAD on Symbian OS and all worked very well. However, AMR it's not royalty free and if i need to use it on Windows Mobile i will need
