GConvert error when using pictex (PR#173)
[I'm refiling this one due to mailer config messup]
I get an error whenever I try to plot a histogram in pictex.
The error doesn't occur for X11 or postscript.

Cannot activate Ogg plugin in XMMS
My machine is running RedHat Linux 7.3, and I believe it came with
vorbis 1.0rc3 by default. To my knowledge, I upgraded all libraries,
documentation, and binaries with 1.0 versions. it placed everything in
/usr/local whereas the old stuff was in /usr, so I manually deleted the
old stuff from /usr.
When I run 'oggenc', it does say: "OggEnc v1.0 (libvorbis 1.0)"

Some questions and problems about setting up Icecast2
I've finally decided to take the plunge and set up an Icecast 2 server on my Linux 2.4.18 machine. After asking in #vorbis, I was told that I need ice2 and ices. From what I understand, ice2 is the Icecast2 server, while ices is a program that sends it data to push to its clients. Am I right?
After downloading both modules, the first problem I've ran into is executing the

Looking for a batch encoder program
While I am waiting for a 1.0 release of Ogg Vorbis, I made a "WAV" folder on my computer and have been regularly ripping CDs into that folder using Exact Audio Copy. Right now that folder has 3.4 GB of wave files in different subfolders. Is there a program in which I could specify this "WAV" folder, and it would go and recursively convert all WAVs into oggs of the same filename

oggenc scripting/parameter question
I ripped an entire CD into WAV format using "Exact Audio Copy" software, and now I want to convert those 17 wave files into Ogg format. I have a DOS batch file that I've used before for CD conversion, but I want to add a comment saying that the sound file was ripped using "Exact Audio Copy".
I don't see an option to add a regular comment to an Ogg file via

Is there a list of Ogg-supporting portable players?
I am looking to buy a portable player that supports Ogg Vorbis, but I don't know of ANY that do... is there a web page listing all the known players (however few there may be) that currently support Ogg Vorbis?
Thank you.

Are all RC3 implementations identical?
I'm a loyal user of GoldWave (http://www.goldwave.com/), and recently the Ogg Vorbis support module has been updated to RC3.
Is it still safer for me to save files as WAV and then use the "official" tool (oggenc) to encode my files, or are all RC3 implementations the same, and it makes no difference with what program I encode the files, as long as the module uses the latest

GConvert error
Reply-To:
I
am doing a histogram of a relatively small dataset. It works
great for X and postscript output, but when I try pictex I get
an error - I have tried it with various options and all have the
same results (ie I have tried without the width, height and
debug).

2.4.4 Patch
Hello all,
I'm new to the ext3 group, and will soon be attempting to use the EXT3
file system on our embedded product.
I was wondering if a patch existed for Linux 2.4.4 base? Our current
image is based off of this. I do plan on upgrading to 2.4.5/2.4.6 soon,
but would like to get EXT3 working before migrating all of my embedded
stuff to a new kernel.
Thanks,
Paul W.

barplot forces xpd=TRUE (PR#1088)
<<insert bug report here>>
barplot hardcodes xpd as "TRUE" causing the bars to go outside of the
plot region. True can be the default, but it shouldn't be the only
option.

Barcode or EAN code?
One my of my CDs has a bar code, 4 011222 044068, which is titled "EAN CODE".
Another one simply has a barcode, 07822-18646-2, without any title.
Should I assume that the barcode of any CD is the EAN code? I'm asking this because I want to know how to title the comment of the Vorbis file -- "EAN code" or "Barcode".
Thanks.

CVS problem
Thanks, removing the compression fixed the problem.
I set up a script to checkout and compress for download CVS-only material from Xiphophorus -- http://pmw.myip.org/xiph_cvs/. So far I only have it to download three modules, so if there's anything else, please let me know.
Also, if anyone knows how to bypass the interactive password prompt of the CVS, please let me know...

Hi all - Kernel Opps on PowerPC
Hello all,
We recently switched to kernel 2.4.10 from kernel 2.4.4, and in doing
so also added the EXT3 patch 2.4-0.9.10-2410.
Everything seems to work great, however I have been able to reproduce
a crash over and over again.
Here it is:
#!/bin/sh
mke2fs -j /dev/hda2
mount /dev/hda2 /mnt
About 75% of the time, mount will result in a kernel Oops, the crash
seems to be about something in

Kernel crash on 2.4.16
All,
I've posted here earlier regarding a kernel crash we were seeing on kernel 2.4.13,
on our embedded hardware... We have recently upgraded to 2.4.16, and are still seeing
crash issues.
We are running Vanilla 2.4.16 (including some of our own device driver modules) on a
PowerPC 7410, with the root partition being EXT3.
We have a test which creates a EXT3 partition, coppeis /usr/bin to

CVS problem
Hello;
I've been having a problem retrieving ANYTHING from CVS on your server for a few days. I can log in successfully and can begin checkout. However, it stops here:
...
cvs server: Updating thread
cvs server: Updating timing
Regardless of what I try to pull, be it ices, icecast, or vorbis, it all stops on timing. Is that a known issue? Thank you.

Some problems with WinVC 1.0
I have downloaded WinVC 1.0 onto a Windows XP machine with an AMD 450 MHz processor and 256 MB of RAM. I converted an entire CD ripped with EAC to Ogg Vorbis format with the attached DOS batch file, and the tag info looks perfect in Winamp's latest ogg vorbis plug-in.
However, after opening any created Ogg file in WinVC, the track # field contains a part of an custom tag that I added through
