SYSLINUX 3.30-pre1 released
Hi all, I have pushed out a SYSLINUX 3.30-pre1. The main difference versus earlier versions is that this version contains a *preview* of a VESA graphical menu system (vesamenu.c32); it's used the same way as menu.c32, with the addition of a few more commands (which can also be used in menu.c32 in this new version): MENU BACKGROUND file.png ... loads a background image in PNG format.

problems with isolinux over serial console
Hi, I'm missing something in my isolinux.cfg configuration but I'm not quite sure what it is. menu.c32 displays properly over video console, but on the serial connection, the first letter of the labels are duplicated, and the margin is pushed off towards the right: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/59666947/isolinux.jpg my config is: --- cut --- 1. serial 0 115200 2. console 0 3. 4.

PXELINUX 6.03 / vesamenu.c32 hang
Hello, I'm experiencing an issue where if I use vesamenu.c32 with PXELINUX 6.03 when network booting a virtual machine hosted on VMware ESXi 6.0, it hangs (the version message is printed and then nothing - the VM has to be powered off and back on again). This happens no matter if I choose the E1000 network interface or the VMXNET3 network interface when creating the VM. The same problem

PXELINUX 6.03 / vesamenu.c32 hang
Hello, Thanks very much for your suggestions. I have double checked that all .c32 files are from the same version of syslinux. What I don't know - I only put those .c32 files I have in there on the basis of trial and error - is what .c32 files are actually needed for menu.c32 and/or vesamenu.c32. I thought perhaps there might be a .c32 file missing that I needed to put in there (though

Customized theme for Syslinux.cfg
Thank you Gregory your code worked to remove the border in syslinux! It wasn?t the Alpha (that changes the opacity of the border color), but it was the ?shadowing? that had to be changed, so ?none? in the shadowing column worked(you notice the border come back if you change ?none? to ?std?) reference this link for terms: https://wiki.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php?title=Menu#MENU_COLOR ! SYSLINUX 3.31-pre4 is release candidate
I have decided to promote SYSLINUX 3.31-pre4 to release candidate status. If it tests out OK, it will become 3.31 some time next week, probably. -hpa

menu.c32 empty label?
The attached config works, but gives 2 error messages that get covered up by the GUI screen so fast I cannot read them. I think they are probably about having 'LABEL' with nothing after it. I was trying to follow the example in menu.doc but somehow I'm doing it wrong. Please consider helping me figure out how to get the same resulting GUI menu without any error messages. I am using

SYSLINUX 3.31 released
I have just released SYSLINUX 3.31. It is functionally identical to SYSLINUX 3.31-pre4. Changes in 3.31: * The simple menu system (menu.c32 and vesamenu.c32) now support loading more than one configuration file at a time, using MENU INCLUDE or by specifying multiple filenames. * The MENU COLOR statement can now control the shadowing mode. USB Thumbdrive + dos ghost boot image + drive too small = confusion
I will really hate myself if this has already been solved, i searched the archives but didn't really find anything pertaining to it. I have a 2.88mb dos boot floppy image, with ghost.exe, dos nic drivers, and dos system files. It works fine when burnt to a cd. As for the thumbdrive when trying to configure this hpghost.ima file to run from my syslinux.cfg menu, it works and boots up fine but

isolinux failing on serial console
Hi, I have a problem with isolinux failing to boot a kernel whenever I navigate and trigger the menu via serial console. My test machine is a DL585 G2, with iLO2. Navigating and booting the kernels off of the video console works 100% of the time. With the serial connection however, I _sometimes_ get a "menu.c32: not a COM32R image" error. Sometime it works fine. I suspect the serial

Customized theme for Syslinux.cfg
Greetings Syslinux forum, I used this link; https://askubuntu.com/questions/1090891/grub-menu-colors and I followed it's tutorial for implementing the grub theme and was able to delete the menu border by creating a customized grub theme for UEFI boot (grub.cfg)! Do you know if the "syslinux.cfg"(legacy boot grub) can have it's border removed, like do you know if

Customized theme for Syslinux.cfg
Thanks Gregory, my mistake, your explanation was half right and your code was fully right, I meant to say the key is setting the first two digits in the foreground and background to "00" (which means transparent) this will delete the color of the border, and then making the shadowing variable equal to "none" this will delete the shadowing black line that appears by default.
