isolinux pathnames
Quick Question About Bootable CDs: Am I correct in assuming that ISOLINUX locates its files by accessing a Directory Tree in ASCII addressed by the Primary Volume Descriptor in the final session of the CD? I'm working on an On-The-Fly CDR Archiving Program and doing some advance research into Boot Mechanisms. Faictz Ce Que Vouldras: Frank Mitchell

Initial support for sector size >512
This set of patches add some support for sector size >512. Currently it fixes extlinux, MBR for GPT and ext partitions. Other code is unaffected. This set of patches has been tested on a read Dell machine running a beta firmware.

ReL plot(cox.zph())
You report an error message: > plot(zph.revasFit[1]) Error in plot.window(xlim, ylim, log, asp, ...) : need finite 'ylim' values I have never seen this error before, and I cannot guess what causes it. You need to provide more information, and likely a small data set that produces the problem. Perhaps you have an x variable that is a constant? Terry Therneau

net ads commands work, wbinfo fails
...joined our Active Directory domain, but only the various `net ads` commands work, while any `wbinfo` commands fail. Where can I start searching for this? My log.winbindd says that the server failed to fetch the shared secret. Oddly, it also says that it's trying to contact a Domain named PVD-MGT-10, which is actually the hostname. Does this sound like I haven't added accounts for the machine yet, or do I need to correct my ldap.conf file, or...? I confess I am getting out of my depth. :7( Despite having both Samba books and the man pages, I don't have anyone particularly...

testing out 6.03 network booting...
Hi all, wasnt sure whether this was the best place to put this information; but something seems to have gone 'backwards' in the later pre-releases of 6.03 regarding network booting. below are results of me testing - i did each a few times to make sure they are valid results. hope it helps identify something that's gone awry ? so far, 6.03 pre11 and pre13 (excluding efi32) seem most

[PULL 0/8] MultiFS suppport for BIOS and EFI
So last week I was wondering if XFS was still working -- even with its last on-disk structure changes -- and it _suprisingly_ worked as expected. Right, now I can finally get rid of GRUB and use Syslinux to boot my Linux on EFI from a rootfs with xfs. Shit, I have two partitions (the first one being the required ESP) so there is no way to access the other partitions since because Syslinux does not
