A little assistance with Sieve
With all the mess that my email has become, it makes sense for me to try
to make use of Sieve, but I'm having quite the time finding out how to
make it work. I'm running 1.0.13 on a Debian machine. Sieve appears to
be compiled with it. I can access managesieve, and I have set up
dovecot.conf with lda. I do not get a NO response when I PUTSCRIPI, but
LISTSCRIPTS produces no result, so I

MANAGESIEVE patch v3 for dovecot 1.0.rc28
Hello dovecot users,
I have updated the MANAGESIEVE patch to apply and compile against
dovecot 1.0.rc28. Not much has changed with respect to the functionality
of the previous version however:
ChangeLog vs v2
- Updated source to compile with dovecot 1.0.rc28, tested with rc27
(debian package)
- Daemon now uses the same location for .dovecot.sieve as dovecot-lda

MANAGESIEVE patch v2
...lo Timo,
Dispite the heat out here, I managed to come up with a new version of
the managesieve patch for dovecot-1.0rc2:
- Fixed the bug (missing CRLF) in the authenticate command
- Modified the sieve storage library making the interface much less crude.
- The scripts put on the server using the putscript command are now
checked before they are accepted.
- The reported SIEVE capability is now directly read from the sieve
implementation (in this case cmu), listing much more than "FILEINTO
VACATION".
- Fixed some minor bugs in the putscript command
Considering the dovecot-sieve plugin, I...

ManageSieve textual fronend wanted
Is there some simple textual frontend to the ManageSieve protocol somewhat easier to use than gnutls-cli? I.e. something to use like
managesieve -u ef putscript myscript < /tmp/myscript
Password:
managesieve -u ef setactive myscript
Password:
simply doing the TLS authentication and length computation for me.

- LDA Sieve plugin: added _version symbol to enable Dovecot's plugin

docecot managesieve global filter, service name
I do have two questions related to the managesieve setup in dovecot
1) I did setup a global sieve filter, that is invoked if a user has no
other sieve filter. If a user installs a sieve filter and activates it
(PUTSCRIPT, SETACTIVE) then the sieve filter gets compiled (.sievec) and
deliver does use it.
If I want to deactivate the filter (SETACTIVE "") only the symlink (to the
.sieve script) is removed, the .sievec file remains intact. On the other
hand the dovecot documentation reads (http://wiki.dove...

The reported replication issues are still open, since we haven't been
able to reproduce them so far.
Changelog v0.4.16:
* Part of the Sieve extprograms implementation was moved to Dovecot,
which means that this release depends on Dovecot v2.2.26+.
* ManageSieve: The PUTSCRIPT command now allows uploading empty Sieve
scripts. There was really no good reason to disallow doing that.
+ Sieve vnd.dovecot.report extension:
+ Added a Dovecot-Reporting-User field to the report body, which
contains the e-mail address of the user sending the report.

Released Sieve v0.1.8 and ManageSieve v0.11.7 for Dovecot v1.2.1
...- The previous release implicitly resolved the FreeBSD script
truncation error. This release adds a small correction to the
code that detects the truncation.
- Fixed panic occurring when many errors are produced by the
Sieve compiler (bug found by Pascal Volk).
- Fixed memory leak in the PUTSCRIPT command.
(ManageSieve patch)
- Forgot to add the managesieve_logout_format setting to the
config file. Now it works (bug reported by Pascal Volk).
