contingency tables
Ok, before I definetly give up, and throw the laptop out of the window, or fill my data.frame manually, I'll ask for some help. I have a data.frame named MyTable with 3 columns, that looks like this: V1 V2 V3 red-j appearanceblood-n 105.032 red-j appearanceground-n 93.749 red-j appearancesea-n 102.167 red-j appearancesky-n 10.898

Colours for sunflowerplot
Dear fellow R users, I would like to draw a "sunflowerplot" because I have data (decade by month) that plots multiple times on the same x-y co-ordinates. Further I would like to colour each of the points/sunflower leaves on the plot according to the group they belong to (i.e. which type of event each represents within that decade and month). I thought that this would be relatively

ylim in barplot()
Dear useRs, I'm having troubles with using ylim in barplot(): even though I reduce the y-scale using ylim, the bars still extend down to 0into the x-labels. The sample data is below, and here is the code. #This works fine but I would like to plot only from 50 to 70: barplot(t(mydata), beside=TRUE, col=c("orange", "green", "yellow", "purple"),

survexp with weights
Hello, I probably have a syntax error in trying to generate an expected survival curve from a weighted cox model, but I can't see it. I used the help sample code to generate a weighted model, with the addition of a "weights=albumin" argument (I only chose albumin because it had no missing values, not because of any real relevance). Below are my code with the resulting error

gradient generation
Dear R-help subscribers; I have a question regarding making gradients in R. I've searched on the web, but was only able to find functions that make a gradient between color X and Y, which is not what I want. I want to 'pick out' individual, smaller pieces of a gradient based on a range of numbers. Say that I have a range of numbers, leading from 0 to 1. Then I want 0 to refer to

syslinux / pxelinux and color palette.
I'm trying to convert my image so that the colors will remain the same after I do a clear screen. What I would like to make is a palette for gimp which I then could use too convert my images, thus achieving my goal :) I have found a list in which order the colors seems to be arranged. 0 = black 8 = dark grey 1 = dark blue 9 = bright blue 2 = dark green a =

Help barplots
Dear All, I am newbie to R, and I wanted to plot a barplots with R and in such a way that It will also show me position which I can plot on the bar line. Here is my code that I am using to plot, > chromosome <- c(40.2, 35.6, 36.1, 29.6, 31, 29.6, 31, 29.4, 28.2, 23, 23, 28.2) >barplot (chromosome, col="purple", xlab="Oryza sativa Chromosomes", border = NA, space =

ylim in barplot()
If you are using a Windows system, you can Export the plot from RStudio and save it as a metafile without using package devEMF and it will crop the bars with xpd=FALSE. When I used devEMF on a Windows machine, the bars were not cropped with barplot() as you indicated, but when I switched to plotrix::barp() they were cropped. The arguments are a bit different, but I did not need xpd=FALSE:

Fast tau-estimator line does not appear on the plot
R-experts, I have fitted many different lines. The fast-tau estimator (yellow line) seems strange to me?because this yellow line is not at all in agreement with the other lines (reverse slope, I mean the yellow line has a positive slope and the other ones have negative slope). Is there something wrong in my R code ? Is it because the Y variable is 1 vector and should be a matrix ? Here is the

ylim in barplot()
Thank you David, That's a nice workaround using plotrix::barp(), but that doesn't explain why ylim doesn't work as intended (or at least, as I expect it to work), or why xpd has no influence when using devEMF::emf()... The problem with saving directly in RStudio is that it requires to manually save the plot, and this becomes troublesome when there are a lot of plot commands in a

Fast tau-estimator line does not appear on the plot
You need to pay attention to the documentation more closely. If you don't know what something means, that is usually a signal that you need to study more... in this case about the difference between an input variable and a design (model) matrix. This is a concept from the standard linear algebra formulation for regression equations. (Note that I have never used RobPer, nor do I regularly

Problem going back to a viewport with gridBase
I am setting up base plots -- one in viewport A and and one in B. This part works fine. But if I go back to A after having done B and add horizontal lines it seems to not use the correct coordinates. How do I tell it to resume using A's coordinates? I am already using par(fig = gridFIG()) but it seems that that's not enough to reestablish them. What happens is that when I go back to

Getting distinct result lists
Is there a way in Ferret to do something akin to SQL''s "SELECT DISTINCT" query? I have a table with multiple columns, and I would like to search just a couple of them (but index others for other kinds of searches on the table). The two columns I want to search do not have unique values, because the other columns finish specifying the record. Is there a way to avoid picking up

CDR Records "s" as dst
I am using VoiceOne http://voiceone.it/ as my management interface. I am not 100% sure when it started, but my CDR is now full of "s" as the DST instead of the actual dialed number. As I understand it - it is because it is being recorded in the CDR while in a macro (as below). Is there any work around so that I can record the actual dialed number? [macro-dialout] exten =

This is because  no graph appear, but no error (blue color text) was shown on the R console. Below is the coding for

Subset and point plot
OK, I need help plotting. I have column headings of Day, Wgt, Foodin, Rep, Grp and Tanks. Rep=c(1,2,3) and Tanks=c(a1,a2,a3,a4,a5,a6, c1,c2,c3,c4,c5,c6, h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h6). I created a subset where I only would like Rep=2, and Tanks=c(a4,c4,h4) and would like to graph (points) of Wgt and Day. I would think that I only need 3 colors, but when I run with only 3, only 2 lines show up. When I add
