puppetd can set more than one server address
hi,all
I want set up a puppet HA structure. but if the puppetd can
set more than one server address ,the work will be simple :D
if one puppetmaster have error, the client can auto try the
next. I think I can use the heartbeat or dns to do this same
thing,but not so good. so I want know the puppetd can direct set in
the configure file ? if not,will be add this option?

pasenger does not start puppet master under nginx

any ideas where am I going wrong? I checkthe directory permissions;
/usr/share/puppet, /etc/puppet and /var/lib/puppet (and files inside them)
are owned by puppet user. I also disabled selinux to ensure there is not
problem on that front, but no luck I keep getting the 405 responses from
puppt master.

Usage of "schedule"

When puppet server( puppetmasterd ) and puppet clients(puppted) are
rebooted by me, puppetd tries to check permission.
But after that, I try "chmod 755 /etc/hosts" and wait 3 minutes,
nothing happen.
I think I might misunderstand someway.
Does anyone give me a hand?

I moved my modules and manifest directory in puppet master.
I also made the changes below in the puppet.conf file to tell puppet where
to look for the the modules and manifests. I then restart the puppet master
then ran puppet command to apply changes to a puppet client it did not
find anything to change just got these three lines "info: Caching catalog
for pdlnx-adpt03.kareoprod.ent, info: Applying configuration version

One of the things I like to see in apps is that they are immediately
intuitive and easy to use for new users. I think Puppet is really good
here, but there''s opportunity to make everything better. We want
everyone to love Puppet from their first few minutes using it, all the
way through to datacenter nirvana.

Questions for puppet 2.6.8 client certificate management
How do I initiate a certificate request without going into non-daemon mode ?
According to "Pro Puppet" book, so far the only way I know that can
trigger a certficate request with puppet master is like this
puppet agent --server=puppetmaster.test.com --no-daemonize --verbose
but doing so will break my intention of automation I need to create a

Hello puppet users,
I know this is not really a puppet thing but i wanted to know what
tools do you use for server provisionning ?
I have to build quite a lot of servers for a prject and i need to
instal them. Of course puppet take care of the configuration but i
wondered if some of you use things like FAI . It seems that i could use

Best practices?
Suppose I start building nodes with (say) 24 drives each in them.
Would the standard/recommended approach be to make each drive its own
filesystem, and export 24 separate bricks, server1:/data1 ..
server1:/data24 ? Making a distributed replicated volume between this and
another server would then have to list all 48 drives individually.
