...lasso package on a data set where I want to fit a linear model.? My interest is in identifying significant?beta coefficients.? The documentation is a bit cryptic so I'd appreciate some help. ? I know this is a strategy for large numbers of variables but consider a simple case for pedagogical puposes.? Say I have?two 3 category predictors (2 dummies each), a binary predictor and a continuous predictor with a continuous outcome: ? y? x1? x2? x3? x4 x5 x6 rows of data here ...... ...... ? Naturally, I want to select x1 and x2 as a group and x3 and x4 as another group.? The documentation has a...

Library lib.loc Option Ignored for Dependencies
...ot;dotCall64" "spam" > ??? > library(spam, lib.loc = "~/lib") > ??? Error: package ?dotCall64? required by ?spam? could not be found Not sure if this is a bug: where is it documented that this works not as above (which is what I would expect)? For development puposes, you may want to try some devekopment version of one package agaiunst release versions of the others. This is the purpose of the above: take spam from ~lib and the other from .libPath(). Best, Uwe Ligges >> >> Martin >> >> ???? > On 07/21/2018 12:34 PM, Martin Maech...

Missing mails after folder renaming
Dear List, I seem to have created myself a problem to which I can't find an answer. I am using Dovecot (0.99.13-4.FC2 on Fedora Core 2) with Mozilla Thunderbird on Windows XP and Linux as IMAP client software. I renamed a folder to a name that included spaces (it fitted the pupose better), then later realised that I would have to change my procmail rules to suit. As I wasn't sure what procmail would do with such folder names I renamed the folder back to it's original short name (all this changing was done in Thunderbird). The result is that all subfolders under...

Proxy ARP
Hi all! I posted earlier about the proxy arp configuration = http://shorewall.sourceforge.net/shorewall_setup_guide.htm#NonRouted, = and was probably not sufficiently knowledgeable on the subject. I''ve = gone through a bunch of documents on proxy arp, subnetting with proxy = arp and the documentation at shorewall, and have come up with a setup = that would be perfect for the job at hand

PHP files in myapp/public question
I am running mongrel and put some php code in myapp/public, but for some reason they are being treated as html instead of being evaluated by the php interpreter. What do I need to do to get these files treated properly? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Call Queues and Agents, using both devices and agent members
Question for users of Agents and Queue. In our queue.conf file we have entries for both agents and some devices. We do this so that some dual pupose dispatchers can also take a call if they have a spare moment. We went live with a dispatch client over the weekend a number of issues came up the most pressing is that when a call comes to a member of the queue that is a device as opposed to an agent. We randomly will get dead air when the uses ta...

encoding problem: gap a few seconds after start of song
Hello, I am in the process of oggifying my CD collection, but I seem to have a consistent problem with the encoding: after a few seconds of starting a mew song there is a gap, a small pause in the encoded .ogg file. It happens in about 30% of the cases. It probably has something to do with adapting to sudden volume changes since occasionally it also happens in the middle of a piece of music when

HD Partition Lost??
Help! I am running FC1, with a maxtor 160GB HD installed. Drive is only about a month old. I had just finished moving data from an older HD that was making some funny sounds and throwing some random errors. All was well. Last night we lost power for several hours and 1 machine's UPS/shutdown system didn't power down the workstation. The other 7 in our office did fine. The power

Replacing WinNT 4 PDC with Samba PDC
Hi All! Thanks to all of you that responded to my previous posts. I've gotten a lot more info now than I used to have! But I still have questions. The biggest right now is: Is there a way build up a Samba PDC as a direct replacement for an existing Windows NT 4.0 PDC? All the material I've found to date is written from a standpoint of creating a new domain as you create the Samba

New 4.9.11-22 kernels and linux-firmware packages to test in xen-testing for CentOS-6 and CentOS-7
Hi So far, I did some preliminary testing using nested virt: host(L0): Fedora 25, kernel-4.9.11-200, kvm+qemu Guest(L1): CentOS 7 Xen-4.6.3-7, kernel-4.9.11-22 So far, at least the L1 setup had no issues. I'll need to pull L1 guest-storage from backup to test some L2 guests. Likewise, I try to allocate two blades at work for tests on real metal. Our standard-tests include starting

group bunch of lines in a data.frame, an additional requirement
Thanks for pointing me out "aggregate", that works fine! There is one complication though: I have mixed types (numerical and character), So the matrix is of the form: A 1.0 200 ID1 A 3.0 800 ID1 A 2.0 200 ID1 B 0.5 20 ID2 B 0.9 50 ID2 C 5.0 70 ID1 One letter always has the same ID but one ID can be shared by many letters (like ID1) I just want to keep track of the ID, and get

Can this be done?
I currently have a 7x1.5tb raidz1. I want to add "phase 2" which is another 7x1.5tb raidz1 Can I add the second phase to the first phase and basically have two raid5''s striped (in raid terms?) Yes, I probably should upgrade the zpool format too. Currently running snv_104. Also should upgrade to 110. If that is possible, would anyone happen to have the simple command lines to
