I say it would be "reliable". One missing byte is a huge burden and nonsensical? People post on this list looking for solutions. They don't want to become experts in the WAV f...

Odd number of samples in a stereo wave file
...they seem to becoming more common, which is a bit of a pain and probably down to an update to a particular piece of software. Fixing them is also not particularly complicated, either add a sample or remove the last one and update the relevant chunk information. On the other hand it seems a little punitive to error on a file in this situation. Anyway your thoughts or opinions would be appreciated. If I have totally misunderstood something in putting this mail together then I apologize in advance. Ben

[RFC PATCH] drm/nouveau/fb/nv50: set DMA mask before mapping scratch page
The 100c08 scratch page is mapped using dma_map_page() before the TTM layer has had a chance to set the DMA mask. This means we are still running with the default of 32 when this code executes, and this causes problems for platforms with no memory below 4 GB (such as AMD Seattle) So move the dma_map_page() to the .init hook, and set the streaming DMA mask based on the MMU subdev parameters before

v4.8-rc2 crashes while probing nvidia graphics card on arm64
Hi, While trying out v4.8-rc2 on Juno r2 (arm64), I ran into the following crash when probing the nvidia graphics card attached to the PCIe slot. So I tried rc1 and got the same crash. The card probes without any errors on v4.7. Anybody familiear with the recent changes knows what might have led to the below crashlog? Thanks, Punit ------------->8------------- [ 2.996678] [drm]

Re: Odd number of samples in a stereo wave file
...'m not sure whether the specifications spell out what should happen when a frame is incomplete, but there is a strong implication that frames should always be complete. I can't even imagine what kind of programmer would write code which creates partial frames. It would actually be punitive to expect the flac code to expect and adapt to nonsensical WAVE files. If the problem is common, then report the bug to the makers of the programs which produce the bad WAVE files, tell your customers to switch to compliant programs, and/or write your own software which processes WAVE file...

I can't seem to find in any of the R codes a means to export the series of images so that they can be played as a movie or animation. Thank you again. Flana

"regression" line of 2 independent variables
Hi, I would like to a draw a scatterplot of x1 and x2 (plot (x1, x2)), and also want to draw a sort of "regression" line across the data points. But x1 and x2 are just 2 independent variables, so in this case a regression of x1 over x2, or vice versa, is not appropriate per se. What would be an appropriate way to do this? Thanks for any suggestions. John
