Not able to sync mirror of Centos7 due to CRC checksum errors
Hi,
yesterday I was trying to create local mirror of CentOS7 using
katello/pulp. I was receiving CRC checksum errors while attempting to sync
the mirror. The particular error in question was:

puppet module install; absolute path?
I work on the Pulp Project (http://www.pulpproject.org/), and we are trying
to fully implement the forge API so we can create new repositories that can
be reached via a command like:
$ sudo puppet module install --module_repository
http://localhost/pulp/puppet/myforge/ someone/theirmodule

Locked version repos
Hello Everyone
I'm looking into the best way to have locked version repos for my CentOS
systems. The systems are all set up with Chef and have a couple
different recopies/roles. I'd like to have locked version repos for each
role with tested RPMs. Then perhaps quarterly apply any updates. It
would be nice to have something showing which updates are available for
these locked repos.

librarian-puppet vs git superproject?
Can anyone comment on their experiences with librarian-puppet or using git
superproject with per puppet module repositories? We are in the midst of
determining which route is optimal for our environment. It seems like using
git superprojects would mean one less new tool for everyone to learn. What
then would be the advantages of librarian-puppet?
Thanks,

Puppet Forge Repository format
Hi,
I am setting up a local forge for some weird political reasons. I came to
know that puppetlabs is working on such a feature.
But, in the meantime I wanted to try out setting up the repo and use
--modules_repository flag in "puppet module install: command. For that, I
need to mimic the puppet forge repo format (meaning the directory structure
of the modules). Can somebody point me

Katello is just one piece. Satellite 6 also integrates Candlepin, Puppet
and more. What I'm wondering is if the entire set of software -
Satellite 6 as one piece - is going to get a new upstream project.

How to get started with instruction scheduling? Advice needed.

Rocket - RV64G - "in-order", single-issue applicaEon core, BOOM - RV64G

So what about PULP? is it in-order or out-of-order?

centralized patch management
Hello,
I have been asked to come up with a strategy for centralized patch
management of our linux servers. Today, this is only centos and rhel.
What is everyone else doing in this arena?
Thanks!

what writes to /root/.cache/mesa ?
Dear All,
I have several CentOS 7 machines (but not all of them) on which I have
noticed that something gets written to
/root/.cache/mesa
every so often (once every several days). It is my understanding that
mesa is related to GUI (X11), but on these machines (on neither of my
machines, actually) root never logs in to GUI X11. I may have remote
root logins with Xforwarding though. Hence my

Check out Pulp (pulpproject.org). Its the underlying technology used in the next version of Red Hat Satellite, and it has the features you describe.

The Katello project is the whole thing. During installation it pulls in
Foreman, Candlepin, Pulp, Puppet and more.

...ne thing I do is put an 'exit 0' in /etc/default/google-chrome. This
effectively stops most of the evil that the RPM does in its
postscripts. (As a reminder, this is what the latest RPM does,

I also manage private repos (with pulp) of the Google Chrome repos, in
case I need to go back to a previous version, so having it overwrite
my repositories is actually damaging.
I also disable 'at' and the atd service on our workstations, and this
RPM turns atd back on and schedules an at job to run the

CentOS6.2: installation at specific kernel level
Hi, all
I have a number of machines that are out of sync with one another by
virtue of having done a yum update after a base 6.2 install at different
times (all were previous CentOS 5.3) Consequently, systems are a mix of
2.6.32-220.7.1, 2.6.32-220.13.1 or 2.6.32-220.17.1.
So 2 questions:
- Is it possible to perform a yum update (or another other kind of
update), specifying installation
