Contos3->5 upgrade, smbmount is gone?
I solemnly puke upon people who break things and call it progress. Get ye to Redmond. I upgraded Centos3.8 to Centos5.4; smbmount is gone. Mounting a WinXP share requires a new instantiation of the old command smbmount \\\\hostname\\path\\to\\share /local/mount/point -o ip=123.12.34.234,username=hostname\\my_...

looking for radrails devs
I just got an email update on a radrails bug that I submitted a while back... Unfortunately, it''s just stupid spammers. So, I tried to go to the radrails trac to delete the spam or at least report it, and their trac is puking python errors (including environment information) all over the page! I can''t seem to get to any pages with any contact info, so I''m trying

Sorting messages by date
I've recovered a load of messages from a different mail server without it's index file (it was corrupted). I now have thousands of messages which display in Outlook Express (yes, you may puke at this), all as today's date. However when I read them in Pine, the date of each message is displayed correctly, but they're in no particular order whatsoever. There are several questions here, some of which aren't suitable for this list, but for completeness... 1. Does Dovecot st...

Not accepting nil values in fields when CREATING a record
Hello, I have a question for you. In my application, I want to make sure that the database doesn''t have any NULLs in fields. I can''t use validates_presence_of, because it will puke if there''s an empty string ("") So... is there an EASY way to check if a list of fields is null? Right now, I''m doing: def validate() [...] errors.add(:mailing_middle_name, "cannot be nil") if mailing_middle_name.nil? errors.add(:company, &quo...

SQLite and ext3 journalling mode
Hi, Are SQLite users that are worried about losing data that has been committed (fsynced) better off setting data=journal than data=ordered (or even data=writeback)? The context is trying to reduce the number of writes to a flash file-system without sacrificing data integrity in the event of a power failure or OS crash. Thanks, Dan Kennedy.

forward incoming analog call to SIP?

Here are my various config files - maybe someone will take pitty on me and point me in the right direction. Needless to say, Asterisk pukes on my dialplan when I try and startup. . Ok with mismatch between dead-markings in BUNDLE and bundled instructions?
...correct. However, the def in the actual bundled instruction defining %vreg39 is not marked with dead. Is the above bundle ok or not? When the register allocator later tries to spill/reload %vreg39 it thinks that %vreg39 is live, so it inserts a reload after the bundle, but then the verifier pukes on it and says that there is a use of the register after it's dead. The dead-marking on the BUNDLE is introduced by LiveIntervals::computeDeadValues which does // This is a dead def. Make sure the instruction knows. MachineInstr *MI = getInstructionFromIndex(Def); asse...

files deleted on server end during transfer
Does rsync handle cases where files have been deleted off of the rsync server side after the client starts downloading from the server? I did a test run using two windows machines and the client puked, giving me some kind of file protection error. What happened is the client received it's list, starts downloading, all is well. Well, on the server side the files were moved out (or deleted) by another process that runs on that box. When rsync got to downloading from the directory those files...

Is mechanize thread safe?
Hello all, I was just wondering if anybody knew whether mechanize is supposed to be thread-safe or not? I didn''t really find any information about it anywhere. I''ve been getting a strange error in protocol.rb when I run a script that uses mechanize in a multi threaded fashion, but not with a single thread. I''m trying to write a spider that does multiple gets in

Problem with user type on 0.20.1... uses group "absent"
Hi, I''m running into a problem with the user type with puppet 0.20.1... this worked before with 0.19.x at least, not sure about 0.20. But I''ve got adduser.pp: <snip> define adduser($uid, $gid, $groups="users", $membership="minimum") { group { $name: gid => $gid, allowdupe => false, ensure

NX and CentOS 5.5?
...Authentication failed. ? Now I have been googling and re-googling. Plenty of people have had the same issue, but I have yet to find a solution that works for me.?? Funny that most of the stuff I'm finding on google is 4-5 years old!? I'm sure I am probably missing something so simple I will puke! ? I think I read that someone did an install and it worked right out of the box!!? Incredible! ? I'd really like to see a CentOS - NX configuration guide but couldn't find one. ? Can someone just tell me how this should be configured....what changes do I need to make and to what config fil...

rc2 channel coupling
Try this: make encoder invert polarity of right (or left) channel on input and listen to output files (at about 128 kbps). I know that I am being nasty, but some software uses this kind of trick to produce 'surround'-like effects; this stuff causes channel coupling to puke (works fine with RC2 when channel coupling is disabled, tried with my Winamp output plugin which has an option to do that; also works fine with LAME @128kbps and Vorbis beta4/RC1). Idea: auto-disable channel coupling when it doesn't gain anything. -Peter --- >8 ---- List archives: http://w...

isohybrid and partition type 0x17
Hi, OLPC's Openfirmware (OFW) implementation chokes when attempting to boot an iso created by isohybrid. The problem is that OFW's ISO-9660 support expects a partition type of 0x96 (CHRP ISO-9660, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Partition_type). I see from
