Samba 3.0.10 Authentication in an NT4 Domain
...og in. It feels as if the box is a member of
the domain, but is not getting it's users and groups lists from the
domain controller.
Can anyone tell me how to resolve this, and what mechanism handles how
the server gets this info from the domain controller?
The physical share folder is at /mnt/PublicShare with permissions of 777
and owner:group of root:root.
My smb.conf looks like this:

Post idmap update, I followed the same process I did previously and took ownership of the share folder and set the ACL. This was all done on Unraid 6.9.2 and I confirmed shared access is functi...

Yes, they were just comments, but unraid should really fix their Samba
setup.

Access to a share resource without password
Dear, I have a Linux Samba server and a Windows XP SP2 client joined
to the "g-company.net" domain.
I want to access a Linux share resource in /var/share without password
from WXP desktop FROM ANY USER.
This is my scenario:
- I don't create any Linux local user because I want total access from any user
- I use security = share
- My smbusers file is:
root = administrator admin

Especially I liked the software installation (too bad it can install MSI
packages only) and the ability to run custom scripts on the workstations
(when the boot up etc.).
Is it possible to run a custom script for a given machine when it boots
up (that is already joined to
