Font for cyrillic letters
...here did that blogger (from the page I linked at first message) got that font file.
I have ungzipped all files from usr/share/kbd/consolefonts (excluding partialfonts folder), then grepped v1 fonts. And there are very few of them:
file * | grep -v "Linux/i386 PC Screen Font v1"
eurlatgr.psfu: Linux/i386 PC Screen Font v1 data, 512 characters, Unicode directory, 8x16
lat0-sun16.psfu: Linux/i386 PC Screen Font v1 data, 256 characters, Unicode directory, 8x16
lat2-sun16.psfu: Linux/i386 PC Screen Font v1 data, 256 characters, Unicode directory, 8x16

...psf2 font to psf1 format?
Also, I have found this question:
https://toster.ru/q/138495
and there is a config with russian letters and with using Cyr_a8x16.psf font.
I again used an ungzipped file from Arch Linux, but it did not displayed russian letters. It was again a v2 font "file Cyr_a8x16.psfu":
Cyr_a8x16.psfu: Linux/i386 PC Screen Font v2 data, 256 characters, Unicode directory, 16x8
Were psf1 fonts gone from kbd package, but still required to be used with syslinux?
Thanks.

As the Syslinux wiki explains, you need one font file being compatible
with psf1, 8x16 bits, 256 glyphs (additional glyphs are accepted but
ignored).
As already mentioned, Syslinux at the...

isolinux, extlinux and accented characters
Hello,
First of all, thanks very much for this piece of software, it's working
like a charm.
I'm using it to boot a Linux distro I'm working on.
What I want to deal with is the display of accented characters in ISOLINUX.
First, I set EXTLINUX up to boot an ext2-formatted USB stick. No problem
so far.
I wrote a config file ordering to load a font (lat-9w) to display french

Display borked when loading FONT
...font
to display French accented charecters since then, but it not the case
anymore, as problems have started to raise with syslinux 5.x.
program : EXTLINUX, ISOLINUX (same behaviour)
In extlinux.conf, the culprit is :
FONT=lat9w16
This font is taken from 'kbd' package, named lat9w-16.psfu. It contains
a UTF-8 table, usually ignored by extlinux, but maybe it is not the case
anymore? As usual, extlinux.conf is written using an ISO-8859-1
encoding, not UTF-8.
All .c32 modules are present in /boot/extlinux/, next to extlinux.conf
itself. 'extlinux --install' reports no erro...

xen on suse 9.3 and software raid
Has anyone had issues starting xen0 on a md? I have installed it a few
times now w/ and w/o raid. Anytime I have a raid1 mirror, Xen panics on
boot when trying to mount /.
It gets past waiting for /dev/md0 to appear.
