kerberos nfs4's principals and root access
You are right !
But it's possible to create a root kerberos principal like here :
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19253-01/816-4557/fgohx/
But I can't get this work with a samba kerberos realm....

Persistent Winbind gid cache
Hello Samba team !
I'm network administrator in a french high school where I store my
user/group ID using rfc2307. My client stations use Winbind to query
rfc2307 attributes.
Each new years, as all my students move to another class, almost all
my user's gid are updated in AD.
This gid is very important in my network because pam_mount mount only
the share corresponding the to user's

winbind on DC : how use gidNumber instead of primaryGroupID as user's primary group
...How OP do in general here ? Is there some tutorial about LXC setup for
samba around here ? I have only one physical server....
@Louis :
It's seems that we are working you and me on network design for
school/enterprise no ? If you are interested I try to publish my work
now :
https://github.com/prunkdump/sclustered
Maybe we can works together or exchange some part of our design. If
you have a virtual machine emulator you can get my setup running in
less than 30 minutes (I use puppet for configuration). If you want
some info contact me by email.
Regards,
Baptiste.

SIGSEGV with pam_winbind kerberos authentication
Hello,
I can't get Kerberos authentication works with my Linux clients.
Server : samba 4.1.4 (compiled from source)
Client : Debian Wheezy with sernet-samba 4.0.17-8
Without Kerberos authentication, everything works :
-> the domain users can log with pam_winbind (with ssh, gdm ....).
-> "kinit myuser at MYREALM" works fine.
-> "wbinfo -K MYDOM\\myuser" works.

POSIX ACLs on Domain Controller.
Hello samba team !
On my network, I mainly manage my AD users and computers from Unix
using shell scripts. So I would like to set the shares' ACLs directly
from the DC with the POSIX setfacl command.
When exporting with NFSv4, the POSIX ACLs are conserved. I can set the
permissions the same manner as for my local users.
But on DC, the "rwx" right is mapped to "full

Demoting and remoting a DC with same hostname.
Hello samba team !
As you know
https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2017-June/209112.html
during the upgrade from Debian Jessie to Debian Stretch all my three
DCs have lost their machine password. Or something is corrupted in the
machine password database. So the DRS stopped working.
To try to repair safely the issue I have virtualised the three
machines. Here what I have tried :

ldbmodify in multi-DCs environment.
Hello Samba Team !
Just a little question. Is ldbmodify safe in a multi-DCs environment
or there is something I forgot ? Can I launch the "ldbmodify" command
on any DC to edit my AD database ?
Note :
All my DCs are Samba 4.5.12. There is no Wndows DCs.
Thanks !
Baptiste.

Existing DNS zone and Samba4 DLZ
Hello !
I am the network administrator of a French high school. I have already
configured a BIND9 server with dynamic DNS update from the ISC DHCP
server for my zone :
lyc-guillaume-fichet.ac-grenoble.fr
And I would like to add a samba4 server in this zone. How can I add
the samba's DNS entries to this existing zone keeping my previous
static and dynamic entries ?
I can't use directly

Create Organizational units (OU) from Unix.
Hello,
Is there a way to create an OU (in the AD sence) from Unix with the
samba tools ?
I have made a script that create all my users and groups (for a
school). But I still need to create the OUs manually from windows with
RSAT.
Thanks.
Baptiste.
