I don't know why there's lots of problems lately. I assume some small
libc implementation changed that icecast must have depended on. I ran

No. We need to know which version of the tools to test. As far as I
know, a specific version (point release) hasn't been chosen yet.
A toolchain upgrade is a *major* issue for large software projects. I'm
all for C++-11. It's long past due that we use it in LLVM. However,
prudence dictates that we allow enough time for testing before swapping
toolchains out from under people.

Recent FSF Compromise and rsync ... pgp keys?
Hi, folks.
I've been quite concerned about Open Source and the recent FSF compromise.
I realize that FSF does not seem to have rsync, but prudence would dictate
that I check other sources as well.
Could someone please e-mail the public key for rsync to the list or to me
directly?

I seem to be having a spot of trouble getting to any public key servers from

...ame problem for awhile on Icecast 1.3.10. I moved back to 1.3.0
(I know!) and it went away.
At the time (a few months back) I was using CVS Ices.
That was on this system:
Linux 2.2.19
glibc-2.1.3-15
glib-1.2.6-3
glibc-devel-2.1.3-15
(I think pretty close to Mike's).

Hi all,
I'm afraid that having spent yet another entire day floundering around in
the world of icecast, I've really now got to the point of asking a
difficult question.
I set up an icecast server back in early 1999, and it seemed to work fine
for months. We had a server crash here that meant I had to go and reget
the sources to rebuild, and ever since then it has been nothing but

Compromised servers, SSH keys, and replay attacks
We had an incident recently where an openssh client and server were
replaced with trojanned versions (it has SKYNET ASCII-art in the binary,
if anyone's seen it. Anyone seen the source code ?). The trojan ssh &
sshd both logged host/user/password, and probably had a login backdoor.
Someone asked me what was their exposure if they used public/private keys
instead of passwords.

[PATCH v19 2/7] xbitmap: potential improvement
...new CPU may not have radix_tree_node
pre-allocated there, this will be a problem when inserting a node to
the tree later. This patch moves __radix_tree_preload() after kmalloc()
and returns a boolean to indicate the success or failure. Also, add the
__must_check annotation to xb_preload for prudence purpose.
