proverbial floodgates thrown wide open for centos-announce list
Starting maybe ~ 12 hours ago, the proverbial floodgates were thrown open on emails sent to the CentOS-announce mailing list for CentOS 5.x, all on account of individual package releases.
RedHat have not done the same. What's up?
Are these mistakenly released re-announcements of (previously released) package updates? Or, did the mail...

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick test. Been trying to get back on the list for years and
finally looks like there's a proverbial light at the end of the samba list
tunnel!

Now the proverbial question - is this a bug or a feature? ...and if it was meant to be done that way then why...
Beware, that this is the way it is done throughout the file, not just in this specific instance.
Thanks a lot.

[LLVMdev] [RFC] Encoding Compile Flags into the IR
...e Optimization has a problem. We need to preserve some of the flags with which the modules were compiled so that the semantics of the resulting program are correct. For example, a module compiled with `-msoft-float' should use library calls for floating point. And that's only the tip of the proverbial iceberg.
Goals
=====
My goals for whichever solution we come up with are to be:
1) Flexible enough to differentiate between flags which affect a module as a whole and those which affect individual functions.
2) Quick to query for specific flags.
3) Easily extensible, preferably without changin...

the age old telephone tree... why re-invent the wheel?
...leaves a msg, kicks of a call to every parent plays msg
c) coach calls in leaves a msg, kicks off a call to every parent, checks
for voicemail, plays msg, if human, press 1 to acknowledge msg, coach
gets call with a number of how many didn't acknowledge, maybe?
so... has anyone done the proverbial phone tree?

existing authzn databases). where's the documentation of how to do
this? what do I need to know about this process (I'm not sure what it's

in case I wasn't clear above, I want to just be able to "flip a switch"
(in the proverbial sense) and switch PDC on an existing ldap directory
without having to purge it or migrate data or anything else so complex.

I am leaving llvm
...compelled to throw in my two cents here.
I agree 100% that the Foundation is full of people with good intentions.
I have been on a board like that, and it is extremely seductive; the
downside is, having such good intentions you see no value in establishing
good practices and processes. There is a proverbial road paved with all
good intentions.
[This is where Chris will step in and say this isn't the right forum
for discussing how the Foundation is set up or behaves, and he is right.
So I will stop here.]

OK, so let's say they exercise their right to "not renew a license",
what's our fall-back? If the repository is a binary proprietary format,
(which I'm not sure if it is, please correct me if I'm wrong), how do we
go back to CVS/SVN/Monotone/etc.? Or are we up the proverbial creek?

Recovering expunged but not purged e-mails from mdbox with zlib compression
...e-mail by cutting it out from the
mdbox and running gunzip over it, but this method was very fiddly and
would not have worked for a bulk job.? I appreciate I could have just
deleted the index files and gotten all the deleted messages back by
having the index rebuilt but that would have been the proverbial "hammer
to crack a nut".
Fortunately this e-mail had no attachment for me to worry about, as
those are also detached for sis by dovecot.
Can anyone tell me of a quick and easy way to recover one or multiple
e-mails marked as expunged but not purged which are stored in a mdbox
with...

[LLVMdev] Another way to JIT: "dlopen from memory"
...emory":
http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=11767
5 is trivial.
Even a prototype of this initial JIT model that uses temporaries on
the filesystem would be useful for JIT users doing debugging or
profiling.
I don't really have time to implement this. I'm just kicking the
proverbial can down the road. I may file a feature request PR or
write up something in the style of sabre's LLVMNotes:
