Subject: Re: [vorbis-dev] Vorbis license terms? (fwd)
Would you please post something saying that this statement about
my vies is drastically mistaken:
Actually, RMS openly condemns any commercialization of software. He also
equates being paid for writing software with prostitution.
Neither of these is true.
I have nothing against getting paid for writing software; I've even
done that myself while working on GNU. (Of course, the software I was
paid to write was free software.) The Free Software Foundation also
hires people to write free software.
Other people get pai...

Air Conditioning - ON!
All,
(and please do not turn this into the next long thread)
We have a small team which volunteers their time to create the CentOS
releases. They are pounded right now with getting that done... it is as
simple as that. Each of us 'chose' to use CentOS and with that choice
comes nothing more.
Why are we complaining? To me, it is all very self-centered. Basically

I am leaving llvm
You know, to this day I have never been able to bring myself to inform
employers that I'm gay. The humiliation is just too much. It used to be
that people hid homosexuality so they wouldn't get fired. Why should I

bureaucrat?
For most of my 20s I was told I was a worthless over-privileged white male

Actually, RMS openly condemns any commercialization of software. He also
equates being paid for writing software with prostitution. He's not a halfway
kind of guy. The Open Source movement needs RMS, but that doesn't mean he
should be trusted with the kingdom, the same way I wouldn't trust any
extremist, fundamentalist or intellectual who consistently chooses elegant (but
disasterously incorrect) logic over the v...

Catching failure with templates
So, I’m using templates for the first time and I wanted to test the case where the values used by the template don’t exist. I get an error like this:
err: Could not retrieve catalog from remote server: Error 400 on SERVER: Failed to parse template slapd_replication.erb: Could not find value for ''slapd_consumer_rid'' at /etc/puppet/manifests/experimental/services/ldap.pp:141

augeas type and /etc/services
Has anyone attempted to use the augeas type to add a service? I got the
service to add no problem, but having some difficulties to get the match to
work to prevent duplicate entries from adding. Since the service-name[*]
has endless number of entries I used a glob so it checks all the entries but
that does not seem to work. Any ideas on how to proceed?
