NUT and Eaton UPS produce a lot of error messages
I still have two questions: 1) How do I make the nut-server and nut-monitor find the right pid files? They are there but it seems they can't be opened. Permissions are nut/nut. 2) What do these error messages mean? Restarting / shutting down a xen0 server
Hi all, my main xen test system is a pizza box, simply standard. The kernel of stable debian sarge can shut it down/restart it correctly. My own xen kernel (based on debians inofficial xen kernel) cannot. I do not know much of kernels and hardware yet, so please help me to understand: Is shutting down (as opposed to writing "power down" to the screen) or restarting based on APM or

Actually, if the preceding lifetime of the service was a graceful stop, the exiting daemon should have removed its PID files. Then the newly starting one would check and not find them - as I wrote before - to make sure there is no hung old

Solidworks: cannot find a proper pixel format
Took the cdrom from office and tried to run it on Wine (20040121). (before sneaking a linux setup in the office...) Wine was installed on a pure linux system, without any MS directory/filesystem/files. The installation went without any problems or errors. I can start the program, and then I get in the terminal the following message: "ERROR: You need to merge the 'winedefault.reg'

ext3 0.9.6 vs ext3 0.9.9
Hello, I have done extensive testing between 2.4.9 and 2.4.9-ac12 with ext3 0.9.6 and 0.9.9. I also tried using both kgcc and gcc-2.96. I have a problem with logging into xdm or starting the gnome-session totally locking up the machine while using ext3 0.9.9. It seems to go away using ext3-0.9.6. During xdm/gnome-session the hard disk is under heavy activity. I have attached my kernel config.

Freebsd + NT
I am currently integrating Freebsd in a predominately NT network. I am interested in using NT as a domain controller then using samba on the other servers. I know that samba supports this and you can set security = server, but what I am also interested in is using the password list for the passwd file as well. So in theory I would like to download the NT user and pass list much like NT's
