How to load an ISO as a “CD” to satisfy “insert CD” prompt?
I am trying to run my own legal copy of Propellerhead (http://www.propellerheads.se/) Reason 2.5 through Wine on latest Ubuntu on Asus (http://www.asus.com/) netbook, which has no optical drive. When the application starts, it asks me to ?Please insert the CD?, which I thought I knew how to do because after all, I had to mount the one of the three ISOs to start the installatio...

Program only leaves error message.
Hi everybody!
The sound creation software Reason from
Propellerhead is actually the last application
for which I am using Windows.
So I'm trying to get it running with wine.
I'm quite new at wine. I have done a basic configuration
with winesetup.
There is a demo of Reason available at www.propellerhead.se .
I downloaded the zip file which contains the installation files.
I called the

Adobe Audition and Wine
Hi, I've got OpenSuSE Linux 11 KDE 3.5.10.33.2 and kernel-pae 2.6.25.18-0.2-i.686 and Wine 1.1.13
Now I'm trying to install Adobe Audition (I tried several other programs for Linux, but they can't convince me due to limitations, that is, not those possibilities like Adobe Audition).
I read so many "stories" on the internet that Adobe Audition could work thru Wine under Linux,

Wine, JACK and midi?
...(sequencer) and qsynth running
over JACK, but frankly, the free soundfonts I've found have been
pretty dire. The level of cheese involved is enough to kill a man.
So I'm wondering whether anybody has any experience with having WINE
doing terrible, horrible things with midi and JACK, since
Propellerheads and d-lusion have recently put out their old softsynths
for free. I've already tried getting ReBirth to work and came up to a
brick wall cause I couldn't figure out how to make it think the CD was
in the drive when it starts up the first time (had the image mounted
and everything), however,...

Rebirth on Wine
Hello,
I am trying to get Propellerhead's Rebirth v2.0.1 running under wine.
When i start the program, it loads for just half a second, and a I
believe the point it is freezing at is when it tries to run a system
analysis to determine whether or not your computer is powerful enough
to run the software. Perhaps there is a way to bypass this test?
I have read in a couple old newsgroup posts of

Office XP? Windows XP dlls? mIRClocked up.
...ne 20020122 going. I didn't have to change much
with the default way tools/wineinstall. Here's my questions
1) Does Wine run programs that live in a native Windows XP vfat
partition using the native dlls?
2) Does Wine run Office XP, even if it is buggy?
3) Can it run programs such as Propellerheads' Reason?
I am currently running Gentoo Linux with kernel 2.4.18-pre3. My system
is running great. It lives on half of the hard drive, while my WIndows
XP Professional lives on the other half of the hard drive. I would like
to be able to run Outlook XP (Just because we have Exchange here...

unusual challenges speccing external software
This is something I''ve come up against twice. First, I have an
interactive editor which calls vi, emacs, or TextMate (etc.) via Unix,
and then loads the file handed to the editor back into IRB after it''s
edited and saved. I guess that makes it a special case of a more
general question, which is how do you spec external processes, with a
slightly more complicated version of the
