RoR on Apache
I used generate/scaffold to create simple CRUD screen that works perfectly with Webrick. I wanted to attempt to run the same ROR app on Apache. I followed the instructions found at http://wiki.rubyonrails.org/rails/pages/Fast+CGI+and+Apache2+for+Windows+XP with the alternate ending found at http://wiki.rubyonrails.org/rails/pages/Fast+CGI+and+Apache2+for+Windows+wit hout+VirtualHosts. multiple applications to reduce complexity but how to interact...
Hi, we are building couple of application that will need to communicate with each other, because there where special in what they do, I will explain it with some general application: For example, you have a projectmanagement application, where you can store messages, milestones, enc, and you have a online time registration application. Now you want to be able to setup the task for each milestone in the timeregistration application but still have a projectmanagement application for client that don''t need th...

Naming join models
I''ve been playing around with EdgeRails and checking out some of the new features. The one that will probably have the biggest affect on my designs is join models (or :through associations). For those not familiar with this feature, it lets you replace your habtm association with a pair of has_many associations indirected through an intermediate model class. Looks like good

CentOS 7 EPEL rpms
Running C7 and using geany 1.37 which is the latest version available for C7 in EPEL. geany-plugins in EPEL, however, are at 1.38 and there is a bug in one of the plugins that could conceivably be due to version mismatch. I have just spent two hours searching high and low to see if there might be a site where geany-plugins-1.37 could be found but to no avail. I have found 1.31 on several sites

Samba, Lotus Notes Domino, PDF
Hello list, now I do not have a problem with Samba3. I have only a question where I need some suggestions: We have Lotus Notes Domino Server 6.5. This Server is reachable via Internet and an Internetbrowser. The application this Domino Server is running is an projectmanagment system. A lot of different Companys are working over that managment system for one project. They are autenticatet by the

Am I off track on my testing?
Is it just me or does anyone else miss being able to create something quickly. Once you start writing all the tests your time is now increased by a factor of 10. I agree with the logic in testing, but am I doing something wrong? Take the simple example of a controller test for an index action that shows all the forum posts for a user account. The controller code would be something like what is

[LLVMdev] LLVM based Virtual Machine "Environment" idea sanity check.
I've got an idea for a program, and after readig about 1/3 of your documentation, I think LLVM is what I'm looking for. What I'd like now is some help to see if my idea is "sane" and and shed light and direction that could be provided. I want to build a simplified "Virtual Machine" containing: A Terminal Hard Drives (image files) Some Kind Of Networking Device

Collection proxies need to be stubbed ?
Hi all ! I just started writing specs on a new project. I would just like to validate that this is the way you would write it. I know about mocks, stubs and expectations. I don''t think this is a problem for me. My question really boils down to: def index @projects = current_user.projects.active end My spec needs to return the proxy, no ? Here''s my code: context "A
