Status report, including progess toward 0.3
Greetings all, I''m trying to get a good start on 0.3, so I checked in quite a few changes tonight. I am working through all my old emails where people had submitted patches or bug reports, and tried to do as many as I could. There are a few more still in my queue. See the changelog for a complete record of what I fixed. The hardest one turned out to be validators. They were

virt-resize: support to MBR logical partitions and some question
Hi, I'm adding support to resizing logical partitions(patch is in progess). But encounter an error when adding a logical partition in dest image: virt-resize: libguestfs error: part_add: parted: /dev/sdb: Warning: The resulting partition is not properly aligned for best performance. Error: Error informing the kernel about modifications to partition /dev/sdb5 -- Devi...

xlsReadWrite Pro and embedding objects and files in Excel worksheets
Hans-Peter and other R developers, How are you? Have you made any progess with embedding Url's in Excel? Well, I have been busy thinking of more things for you to do;) My colleagues in the lab are not R literate, and some are barely computer literate, so I give them everything in Excel workbooks. I have gradually evolved a system such that these workbooks have be...

Upgrade from 4.1.9 to 4.1.17
...= 0x7f0265025000 brk(0x7f0265081000) = 0x7f0265081000 brk(0x7f02650dc000) = 0x7f02650dc000 brk(0x7f0265138000) = 0x7f0265138000 I think it was some kind of ldb upgrade/maintenance. It would be handy to have some feedback or progess bar. I really don't like unresponsive starts, especially after an upgrade... If needed, i could past the whole debug log/samba config/etc... * apart from the previous problem, the 4.1.17 version works as expected! Regards, J?nos

Removed a DC but...
Some month ago a local branch office closed; the local branch had a DC, that i've simply removed the dc with: samba-tool domain demote --server=vdcsv1.ad.fvg.lnf.it -U gaio (see https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2019-February/221195.html) But this leave some old DNS records, eg: root at vdcsv1:~# host -t SRV _kerberos._udp.ad.fvg.lnf.it | awk '{print $NF}'| sed

Windows ACM codec status
What is the status of the vorbis ACM codec? I certainly hope I am not the only one with a vested interest in its development and there's been no talk of its status on the list lately. Samba4 DNS blocking from replication to another server
...netcmd/drs.py", line 116, in drsuapi_ReplicaInfo (info_type, info) = ctx.drsuapi.DsReplicaGetInfo(ctx.drsuapi_handle, 1, req1) Joining Win2008R2 results in joining but sometime is broken with DNS and AD stop working properly. I think that the DNS problem will have to be fixed in order to progess, or is there a way to recreate DNS without loosing all users, computer and GPO settings, without losing Domain Trust at end computers?

interdomain trusts / wbinfo and listent_recv: returned no users
...ems getting trusts setup between my Samba domain (3.0.x PDC, 3.4.x BDC on Solaris 10) and two Active Directory domains (each in a separate forest.) One domain is a test Win 2003 PDC in native Win 2003 mode, the other is a Win 2008 system also in native Win 2003 mode. To summarize some of the progess- things work better if the Samba 3.4 is the PDC, master browser and WINS server. I now appear to have trusts setup between Samba and the two native active directory domains. "wbinfo -u" and "wbinfo -g" list users from the Win 2008 domain but not from the Win 2003 domain....

Network interfaces (and deleting them)
I''m in a bit of a pickle and I can''t work out a safe way to do something. I currently have a define called ip that I use to define network interfaces. The built in method didn''t seem to work, so I designed this to write out the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg- ethX file. However, I started thinking about what if I decide to define an eth0:0 for some purpose, and

Interrupted query causes "Rails application failed to start properly" error
Given a "find" screen that hooks to controller that does an sql find. (this is a mysql db). Lets say you have a table with several thousand rows and the find that you do will return a result containing every row in the db. I.e. it takes 15 seconds or longer. When I do this find and then click the "stop" button in my browser to interrupt the query, then soon after

ffmpeg2theora bugs ?
....0 bitrate= 531.7kbits/s video:26904kB audio:3791kB global headers:0kB muxing overhead 2.548237% As you can see an error was probably generated by our Pinnacle system, as each 80 sec. about an error was found; anyway the video output is generated correctly. Using ffmpeg2theora instead, the coding progess goes in loop and we have to stop the process. As you can see below the time [1.21.34] is probably the same in seconds [81.4] where ffmpeg found the error.
