getting started with wine on debian and W2K
Dear All
Thanks for your comments. I have downloaded and installed wine-20040121.
Unfortunately things seem to have worsened. I installed wine with my
Windows partition mounted umask=000, and used the Windows partition for
the wine installation when prompted (sorry can't remember the prompt
question wording). I didn't install & run winesetuptk as everything
seemed ready to

Strange Roaming Profiles problem
Hi experts,
I encounter a serious problem using Roaming Profiles unter XP Prof. I don't
know if this is realy a Samba issue, mybe someone has already solved the
same problem. I am running Samba 2.2.5 as an PDC using LDAP.
The first time I log on with user "tom", all looks perfect and a profile is
downloaded from the Samba PDC, say into D:\Documents and Settings\tom. Then

Windows 2000/xp logon says cannot create profile
I'm running samba-3 on gentoo using samba as a pdc to manage users to
designated shares and home directories. I have managed to create
users/passwords which create the shared drives using a batch file.
However, when I do login with the user, it says it can't create a
profile and forces the the creation of a temporary profile which is
deleted when the user logs out.
Is there a way to fix

Roaming Profiles with Samba PDC
I have been working on this problem for quite some time now and have not been able to find the solution.
I have Samba running on Debian Linux 3.0 (Woody) as a primary domain controller. From my Windows 2000 desktop I am able to browse that Linux server with Windows Explorer.
My biggest problem is trying to log in to that domain. Under Windows 2000 I am able to join the domain (sjmlinux) but

Wine, IE5, Win2000 and RH 7.2
Hi all,
I try to run IE5.x under Win2000 using Wine.
