R version 2.01.1, Crimson Editor and the "one" from nowhere
...R-gurus with such an "unstatistical" question... but
I face a problem using Crimson Editor with R 2.01.1 that I never had
using R 2.00.1.
I already posted on the Crimson Editor forum but it seems to be VERY few
R-users there....
I successfully used R v2.00.1until now (under Windows XP professionnal,
version 2002, Service Pack 2, P4 processor CPU 1.8 GHz), together with
Crimson Editor.
This editor is "linked" to R using three files (TpR.exe, R.SPC and R.KEYS).
I recently upgraded to R 2.01.1.
I kept using my old TpR.exe, R.SPC and R.KEYS, because I did not find
any new files on th...

Desperatly seeking Parallel R simulation with Windows XP
...,
I've been searching for weeks a way to use my quad core xeon to increase
speed of a very-very computer-intensive simulation I must do for my works.
It seems that most purpose-made packages for R : Snow, Rmpi, snowfall,...
are designed for Linux based OS. I do not have access to Linux due to
professionnal reasons ... so I must work with windows XP.
Do somebody know a way to unleash the calculation power of all four cores
under windows XP ?
Thanks for your help !!

...am currently studying how to generalize the usage of R in my statistical institute and I encountered a problem that I cannot declare on bugzilla (cannot understand why). Sorry for trying this mailing list but I am really worried about the problem itself and the possible implications in using R in a professionnal data production context.
The issue about 'write.csv' is that it just doesn't check if there is enough space on disk and doesn't report failure to write data.

Logging into WIndows 2000 ADS from Linux Clients
...already in the network and these are all Windows 2000 professional machines. There are HP laser network printers in the network.
Now the organization wants to add about 50 more workstations in the network. I am trying to convince them to use Fedora Linux on these machines instead of Windows 2000 professionnal. My ultimate goal is to convert more machines to Linux. From these Fedora machines, users should be able to login to the Windows servers using their Windows username and passwords. They will be using a lot of files from the Windows 2000 servers which currently also act as the file servers. They are...

Samba 3.5.2 packages for Debian lenny
(please note that this mail is crossposted to 3 lists. No need to CC
me to answers, I read the 3 of them...)
Some users (including me with my professionnal hat) want to use 3.5
versions of samba on production servers running Debian. Of course,
most of the time, these production servers are running Debian lenny
(the stable version of the distribution).
Debian lenny ships with samba 3.2.5, so these users need a
"backported" package....or to c...

rookie - mount nt share from Solaris 2.6?
I believe I know the answer, but I'd like to be
certain, since I keep seeing references to things like
smbmount and smbfs...
Is it possible to mount an NT (4.0sp3) share onto a
Solaris 2.6/Sparc? I just grabbed Samba 2.0.6.
I suspect not (I don't see any smbmount or smbfs in my samba/bin
directory).
Will this ever be a possibility? If so, when?
And, are there any other options for
