C cedilla problem
Hi, I'm having a problem with Samba (which is strange because I don't usually have any problems with Samba). I have the following directories on a Windows NT 4.0 server, as I see them from my SuSE Linux 6.3 box with Samba 2.0.7 (self-compiled). Both the Linux and Windows box are the English versions, however we're using Portuguese language filenames. .

[LLVMdev] Cygwin llvm-gcc build error
Now I believe that I am getting the same error as I was getting last time I tried to build llvm-gcc. It may possibly be my Cygwin instillation but am not sure. makeinfo --split-size=5000000 -I ../../../src/llvm-gcc/gcc/doc -I ../../../src/ llvm-gcc/gcc/doc/include \ -o ../../../src/llvm-gcc/gcc/doc/cpp.info ../../../src/llvm-gcc/gcc/doc/cpp.texi ' in

I do not know makeinfo so was not able to proceed any thurther than verifying the makeinfo statement did the same thing when done on the command line. Basically I am stuck. I do not know whether it was my Cygwin configuration or something I have done or not done or whether it is a valid

Samba PDC + LDAP: adding user to local admin group
Hi all, I'm evaluating Zimbra [1] as the groupware server for my small company. It uses OpenLDAP for authentication services and I'm configuring a Samba server as a PDC for my company, using the same ldap backend. So far, so good, everything is working beautifully well, I can add computers to the domain, login from any workstation, access shares with the appropriate rights and so on.

Wine prints Postscript code
Hello, using wine with CUPS, I have following print problem: The printer prints the plain postscript code! I don't have a Postscript printer, but on Linux Ghostscript renders the Postscript without problems. I think the Postscript file wine produes is wrong and doesn't get detected by the print filter as Postscript and so it is printed as ASCII. Can anybody help? Regards, Bernhard --

Uncorrelated random vectors
Hello, is it possible to create two uncorrelated random vectors for a given distribution. In fact, I would like to have something like the function "rnorm" or "rlogis" with the extra property that they are uncorrelated. Thanks for your help, Luba [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Problems upgrading samba
I have inheirited a samba-1.9.18p4 running on an alpha machine. I want to upgrade it to something newer. The machine serves a disk filled with network installs of our commercial software. I have tried installing both samba-2.0.7 and samba-2.2.0-alpha2, but both cause failures on the DOS machines. In specific, Corel WordPerfect 8 exits with an illegal instruction if a newer version of Samba is
