Steps to Productionize your code?
Hi there,
Does anyone know of any good resources or even suggestions as to steps
one should take to ''productionize'' code?
I think a lot of it would come down to query optimization, and best
practices for writing controllers and models. So if anyone has any good
resources they''re willing to share, please post them :)
TIA
Luke

The CruiseControl server does not provide web URLs for projects
...first pass, I was originally running it through a terminal
connected to the server via ssh, where I''d just navigated to the
app''s folder then run ''cruise start''.
At that time, I could connect fine to the CCTray service.
We''ve subsequently ''productionized'' it a bit, by setting up a builder
account on the server and an /etc/init.d script to start / stop mongrel.
I''m now finding that the CCTray service doesn''t work. The web site''s
there OK, but when I try to access the existing CCTray project

[llvm-pdbutil] : merge not working properly
When trying to merge 2 pdbs which have each their own DBI stream, I endup
with a pdb with an inconsistent number of stream and no DBI stream (or at
least not at fixed index 3, producing a corrupt error when dumping with -l).
Looking at the code, it seems that we don't merge other streams than TPI
and IPI streams, am I right ?
Is the "merge" feature completely implemented ?
Thanks

[llvm-pdbutil] : merge not working properly
The merge feature was implemented primarily for testing but was never
really productionized, so your guess about what the underlying problem is
sounds correct to me. We could probably hide the subcommand so users don’t
accidentally use it, or if someone wants to properly implement the missing
features, that would be even better

Why use a DB with Puppet?
I am confused about all the database talk on the list lately. I''ve been
playing with Puppet for the last 6 months and have never set up a DB for it
to use. What are you guys using the DB for? My first though (really the
only thing I could find) was for storing node configurations. But I''m
storing them in the file system and it seem to work just fine. What are the
advantages

D'Hondt method
Is there a R function to calculate the seats in parliament given the
total number of seats and the votes for each party -- for different
methods including the method of D'Hont?

Notes from dbg.value coffee chat
I chatted with Jeremy Morse, Orlando, and Stephen Tozer at the dev meeting,
and wanted to summarize the conversation for our benefit, and to share it
with others. I aim to be brief, so I apologize if these notes aren't as
helpful as they could be to folks who weren't present.
Three project ideas, by priority:

MAC problems
FreeBSD version: 5.1-RELEASE
Hi,
I'm quite new to FreeBSD. I've check list archives and
read a handbook, but I didn't find solution to my problem
and I hope this is not off-topic.
I've installed 5.1-RELEASE, enabled ACLs on the filesystems
and I wanted to test MAC features. I'm also new to MAC, so
perhaps this is some my mistake.
When I enable mac_biba or mac_lomac (in

llvm-rc option parsing
Hi all (CC llvm-rc contributors),
I've been attempting to cross-compile LLVM for Windows using clang-cl. LLVM's
build system embeds resource files for MSVC builds, so I was hoping to use
llvm-rc for that portion.
cmake invokes the resource compiler with arguments joined to their options
(e.g. `/D_WIN32`, `/fofoo.res`, etc.), which rc.exe supports, but llvm-rc
expects arguments to be

[LLVMdev] [GSoC 2014] Using LLVM as a code-generation backend for Valgrind
Hi,
I've seen on the LLVM's Open Projet Page [1] an idea about using LLVM to
generate native code in Valgrind. For what I know, Valgrind uses libVEX
to translate native instructions into a bitcode, used to add the
instrumentation and then translated back to native code for execution.
Valgrind and LLVM are two tools that I use nearly every day. I'm also
very interested in code

The Debian Plan
Hello Folks,
After all the troubles people have had with Debian I realize that what
I''ve done still isn''t enough for smooth sailing. I''m now going to hold
back the 0.3.13.4 release in order to put an end to the Debian problem
once and for all.
I''m currently planning the following changes:
1) Specific documentation for Debian. Debian will become the only
