Using users from another samba server
...er it doesn't need (nor would be appropriate) to be a BDC.
How can I set it up to read the remote LDAP? I have already installed
libnss-ldap, configured nsswitch and installed winbind, but I couldn't get
it to work.
Here is my smb.conf from the file server:

workgroup = PRODESAN.COM.BR
server string = %h server (Samba %v)
obey pam restrictions = Yes

SambaSID
I have a samba server configured that is member of a samba domain called
PRODESAN.COM.BR. After we had to reinstall the domain controller some samba
shares stopped working on the member server. I get this when I try to use
the share:
[2007/05/29 17:26:28, 3] auth/auth.c:check_ntlm_password(219)
? check_ntlm_password: ?Checking password for unmapped user
[WORKGROUP]\[USER1]...

Problems managing groups with smbldap
...nd when I try to place a user into a group:

Authentication Failure in member server
I have a samba server configured that is member of a samba domain called=20

Error accessing trusted w2k3 domain share

in /etc/passwd and smbpasswd and on the Windows XP client.
Howerver, the problem didn't happen when trying to join the domain, nor do =
the=20
workstation names contain any uppercase characters.
Any ideas as what is causing this and how to fix it?

SID resolution to Username
Hello,
I have two Samba 3.0.22 PDCs and each trust each other.
When I add an user of each domain to the permissions of a file on a
windows machine (W2k, WXP), it shows for them DOMAIN\USERNAME. Everything
is fine. But when i close the permission window and reopen it, then the
user out of the trusted domain is only shown as SID. The one of the own
domain is resolved fine. This happens on clients
