getent not working after installing firewall
...s Strongswan + openvpn. I've a strongswan roadwarrior setup, compatible with win7-10/IOS/Android use strongswan app All the client OS are native supporting the vpn setup. And openvpn as backup, for network not supporting ipsec passthrough. Or, install pfsence, does the same as the cisco and probley more. You want apple stuff.. Install avahi on every server, samba/cups etc, should work out of the box. Airprinting through cups works fine here, that needs some work, but im running it about 2 years now. If you want info about above just pm me, no problem. Greetz, Louis

ldb errors after upgrade, cause?
Hi! recently we upgraded a Debian jessie server to Debian buster, with Samba being upgraded from 4.5.12 (+dfsg-2+deb9u3) to 4.9.5 (+dfsg-5+deb10u1). A few hours later we saw these errors in syslog: smbd[26024]: [2020/02/03 11:13:13.631613, 0] ../lib/ldb-samba/ldb_wrap.c:79(ldb_wrap_debug) smbd[26024]: ldb: Failure during ltdb_lock_read(): Locking error ? Hosted printer drivers can not be used
Hai Christian, Hm,, you tried that Universal driver and it did not work for you,. .. :-/ That worked fine for me, so its one to have a better look at. I saw you used acl_xattr:ignore system acl also. After you changed smb.conf, did you re-apply also the rights on the shares? Try it in this order, first setup the share and correct the rights. Then correct the rights on the file system,

I forgot, post also:   cat /etc/idmapd.conf ( im adding it in the debug-collector atm )   There might be a mis in detecting the Domain or Local-Realm. I suggest, add this :    Domain = jeoffice.jacklin.co.za Local-Realm = JEOFFICE.JACKLIN.CO.ZA   see if that helps.   Greetz,   Louis Van: Ian Coetzee [mailto:samba at iancoetzee.za.net] Verzonden: woensdag 10 april 2019 10:17 Aan: L.P.H. van

ldb errors after upgrade, cause?
Hai Roel, Is samba-dsdb-modules installed ? Run : dpkg -l | egrep "samba|winbind|ldb|tdb|tevent|talloc" That shows it. Can you try also to run : apt dist-upgrade --autoremove Most probley there are some leftovers from the dist upgrade, You can find these with : dpkg -l |egrep "deb[8-9]|jessie|stretch|debian[8-9]" As far i can remember your just missing a package, its something simple but simple overlooked.
