somebody's stolen my probabilities
gday gurus,
could someone please help me with this one? Can't find it in the doco.
summary of my lm object gives "Pr(>|t|)" but coef doesn't. How do I get
hold of these probabilities within an object? There doesn't seem to be an
appropriate attribute within the object - I was hoping for something like
"my.lm$probabilies".
I was hoping to grab the best t scores at run-time.
thanks,
John Strumila

Huge number
...calculate p-value to findout definitely expressed genes
compare A to B situation.
I got this data(this is a part of data) from whole organism , and each
number means each expression values (that means, we could think 'a' gene
is 13 in A situation, and it turns 30 in B situation)
To findout probability, I'm going to use Audic - Claverie Method. ( The
significance of digital gene expression profiles. 1997)
But using this equation p(x|y), I have to calculate (x+y)! first. but I
can't calculate (157+221)! or (666+1387)! in R.
That's probabily the handling problem of huge number, Ho...

Basic database question
Hi there
Yes, I know very little of ruby. I must take a crash course?
Probabily.
Anyway, I try to ask this here.
I have a control: customer_controller.
From here, I can do something like:
@id = 1
@customer = Customer.find(id)
Now @customer will contain all the fetched record for customer with id
= 1. Great.
From this controller I will render an html page. Somewhere the view
will print test.

Samba 4.1.6 on Ubuntu for IBM Power 8 has a bug?
I'm running Samba 4.1.6 with Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS Little Endian on a Power 8
box. As I said in a previous post, I can't mount any share from machine.
I tried the same configuration with Samba 4.1.11 on Ubuntu 14.10 Little
Endian on Power 8, and it works fine.
I'm probabily wrong, but is there a bug in the binary distribution of Samba
on Ubuntu 14.04.01 Little Endian, maybe

Testing controller and action with parameters
I have an action and I am testing it like this:
The action:
==========
def create
@event = Evento.new(params[:event])
@event.aproved = false
if @event.save
redirect_to :action => "index"
else
render :action => "new"
end
end
The RSpec test:
==============
before do
@event = mock_model(Event)

Bug on log.p argument with all stat function (PR#7420)
Dear R Developers:
I have been playing with R, release 2.0.1 for a week now and have detected =
that all stat functions related to distribution probabilities have the same=
problem:
1.- The log.p parameter of all distribution functions, when set to TRUE, re=
turns a extrange value.
Accoding to the manual, when set to true, it should return log(p) probabili=
ty. So to my understanding, setting to true this parameters is the same as =

the observed "log odds" in logistic regression
...ns the log odds can be computed.Is that right?
My problem is this : in my data set , the IVs are continuous variables,
do I still have to generate such a table and compute the log odds for each
level of IV according to which the log odds are calculated?
In R , fitted(fit) gives the fitted probability for DV to be 1. Dose the
observed probability exist ? If it does exist , how can I extract it ? If
the IV is cartegorical , the DV can readily changed to be a tow-culumned
matrix, thus log(the observed probabily/(1-the observed probability) might
be the "log odds". I wonder what if the...

ROC optimal threshold
hello,
I am using the ROC package to evaluate predictive models
I have successfully plot the ROC curve, however
?is there anyway to obtain the value of operating point=optimal threshold
value (i.e. the nearest point of the curve to the top-left corner of the
axes)?
thank you very much,

Plot binomial regression line
Dear all,
I am quite new with R and I have a problem with plotting a binomial
regression line in a plot.
This is what I type in:
> model<-glm(Para~Size,binomial)
> par(mfrow=c(1,1))
> xv<-seq(3.2,4.5,0.01)
> yv<-predict(model,list(area=xv),type="response")
> plot(Size,Para)
> lines(xv,yv)
The error message that I get is:
> Error in xy.coords(x, y) :

RJS, & mulitple Drop Down Boxes.
Hello Again Rails Folk!
I''m trying to creat a page similar to what the person is doing here...
http://mudabone.com/aietc/?page_id=410
Instead of doing it the way he/she has, I decided to use RJS files, or
at least I tried.
Here''s my view

HyperVM
Hi,
anyone here is using HyperVM?
As you probabily know, the owner of LxLabs has killed hitself (i want to
make my condolences to his family):

HyperVM has some big vulnerabilities and we don''t know if they will be
fixed. We don''t know if the licensing server will be kept

Can this be done?
I currently have a 7x1.5tb raidz1.
I want to add "phase 2" which is another 7x1.5tb raidz1
Can I add the second phase to the first phase and basically have two
raid5''s striped (in raid terms?)
Yes, I probably should upgrade the zpool format too. Currently running
snv_104. Also should upgrade to 110.
If that is possible, would anyone happen to have the simple command
lines to
