...on a test system. So saturday evening I shutdown the system and today when I started the linux box, I could not find the printers I have configured. Just to test again I configured a parallel printer again and restarted the linux (Fedora core 4) system and found that the system is not showing any pritners, neither in cups config page nor in Desktop->systemconfig->pritners option. Since we updated to 3.0.6 we are having an oddity that the server IP appears in printer UNCs rather than the IP address. For instance printer \\barbel\grdps appears in the printer status box as "192.168.1.9 on grdps". It still works, but this is both odd and unsightly. DNS forward and reverse is working.
