[patch] Raw sockets in jails
Although RAW sockets can be used when specifying the source
address of packets (defeating one of the aspects of the jail)
some people may find it usefull to use utilities like ping(8)
or traceroute(8) from inside jails.
Enclosed is a patch I have written which gives you the option
of allowing prison-root to create raw sockets inside the prison,

Al Smith was governor of New York State. He was a famouse man. he was born
very poor on the East Side of New York City. he had little education. He
worked very hard and won great success. One day, as governor, he was visiting
the state prison at Sing Sing. Sing Sing is one of the largest prisons in
the United States. The head of the prison asked Mr. Smith to say something

Discrepancy between is.list() and is(x, "list")
> the prison made by ancient design choices
That prison of ancient design choices isn't so bad.
I have no further comments on object oriented semantics.
However, I'm planning to follow the following design pattern.
If I set the class of an object, I will append the new class to the
existing class.
#good
class (object) = c ("something", class (object) )
#bad
class (object)

Asterisk is used in U.S. prisons?
So says "The Voice of Asterisk," Allison Smith in this new and informative
interview:
http://www.ronaldlewis.com/interviews/2007/01/interview-with-allison-smith-north.html
(I know this isn't the most appropriate place, but Allison is about as
relevant as Mark Spencer and the community)

Migrate Outlook Express mail to Thunderbird?
Hi,
A friend's laptop just quit working under Windows XP, so I 1) booted a
Knoppix Live CD 2) configured the thing for my LAN 3) scp'ed recursively
Documents\ and\ Settings/, 4) wiped the hard disk clean and 5) installed
CentOS 5.1. No dual-boot, no prisoners, just 100% GNU/Linux :oD
I managed to find the contents of the Outlook Express Mailboxes in some
obscure subdirectory.

Capture Media IP in CDR
I am not proxying the media, but never the less I am forced to store
the source media IP in my CDR, for regulatory reasons. Asterisk gets
that information when the reinvite comes, but how do I store it?
If I don't figure this out my next email will be from Federal Prison.
Kindly help me stay away from those guys. Eventually we all need to
save that information or we shall not be able to stay

Supporting symbolic links in Path library routines
include/llvm/Support/FileSystem.h has file_type which enumerates the file system’s view of the file type. One of the values is “symlink_file”.
But because the Unix implementation of status() calls stat() instead of lstat(), if the path refers to a symbolic link, the link is followed. There’s no way to get information about the symbolic link itself.
I think changing status() to call lstat() is

Jaguar Samba Servers etc.
I suppose this has already been asked and someone is going to tell me what
chapter of the HOWTO to read but has anyone configured a Linux server to link
up Windows whatever(say ME) and Mac OS X.
Is this the best(highest speed and cheapest we are talking small
non-profit.org here) way to do it? That is have a Linux machine doing
everything a server does-this way dont have to waste G4 on server

Leroy and I strolled out in the dimming afternoon light for a breath of air and to check out the progress of the colors in preparation for the Museum's annual Fall Colors Stroll.
I happened to be in a Latin American prison, accused of running guns to
the freedom fighters.
All right, the Capitol Hill officers let down the old side this time.
But just try to take a snapshot of a blimp and see what happens to you.

filtering out unwanted words in a Term Document Matrix
Hi Y'all,
I am using the text mining package (tm). I am trying to filter out all of the words in a Term Document Matrix that are not in a list of words that I am interested in. I am using the following code:
z<-tm_intersect(txt.dtm, c("communications", "safety", "climate", "blood", "surface", "cleanliness",

bind() on 127.0.0.1 in jail: bound to the outside address?
Dear folks,
It seems that doing bind() inside a jail (whose IP address is an outside
address), will result in some wierd behavior, that the actual bind is
done on the outside address.
For example, binding to 127.0.0.1:6666 inside a jail addressed 192.168.1.1,
will finally result in a bind to 192.168.1.1:6666. With this in mind,
it is possible that some formerly secure configuration fail in jail

The law in France (Code P?nal, article 227-24) states that a public
network is not allowed to broadcast messages containing violence,
pornography or any content contrary to basic human dignity, which is
theoretically punishable with three years of prison or a 75.000 ? fee.
So any network

My reading of the lli source indicates that it's not explicitly doing
any opt passes - is that happening implicitly in the ExecutionEngine?

Ferret 0.10 and Fields
Hey ...
I just tried to convert my code to 0.10 .. But i''m currently not sure
how to use fields..
i really like some of the new api.. its leaner and i like the fact that
these strange consts are gone (like
Ferret::Search::BooleanClause::Occur::MUST) ..
I see that you''re now having Ferret::Index::FieldInfo to describe the
fields of the index.. thats good.. and i now see that
