56K Dialup and VOIP over same PRIs
Anybody have suggestions on having a 56K dialpool and VOIP
connections with an Asterisk box over the same set of PRIs? We've
done the PM3 with PRIs for just dialup, but are looking for a way to
integrate our Asterisk box and move our voice calls onto the same PRIs.

PRIs from two different telco
My TE411p does not seem to like to have two PRIs from different telcos
(span 1 and span 2). I can get one working, but not the other. However,
if I use vpmsupport=0 when loading the wct4xxp module, they both work.
But here is the problem, vpmsupport=0 disables the on board echo
cancellation. Any ideas?
BTW, here is zaptel.conf
span=1,1,0,esf,b...

Dual PRI fail over
...single PRI however we are getting a second PRI, and the
provider (qwest) wants to know if our PBX supports GSAS (they say its a
redundant d-channel technology but searching on google for GSAS reveals less
than nothing). I've set something similar up before on a cisco 5350, where if
one of the PRIs fails, all of the calls destined for either PRI will be routed
down the one that didn't fail. Basically the 2 PRIs are bonded together, and
act as one. During normal operation the calls come down each PRI in a load
balanced fashion (IE if I've got 30 calls up, 15 will be on one PRI and 15...

Protection switching on PRIs.
Has anyone figured out a way to instantaneously swing over PRIs bearing
calls in progress to another media gateway without dropping them?
Obviously, this would require a DACS of some sort. But I am thinking
that it is possible to swing T1s over in a DACS without actually
causing the endpoint to reframe as long as the other endpoint is kept
in sync.
So, it...

Fax to Email with Asterisk and Lucent TNT
Hello,
I have a Lucent MAX TNT, (DS-3, 672 modem ports, 28 PRIs). I'd like
to be able to direct an inbound fax call into my TNT, have it answer
the fax and send the image file over to Asterisk, or some other
system to deliver to an e-mail address(s). I'm not sure if I need
Asterisk to any of the call control or not. I'd also like to setup...

160 analogue phones..
Does anyone have any recommendations on how to connect 160 analogue
phones to an asterisk PBX?
Background information:
A client wishes to replace their current PBX with a new VoIP system.
Currently they have 2 PRIs.
I intent to set up 2 asterisk PBXs with Debian GNU/Linux on raided
drives. These drives will be mounted only read-only to recover
gracefully from power-cycles. I am considering 2 ISDNGuards in front of
the machines.
More to the point: The client has 160 existing analogue telephones which
they don&...

Call load balancing
I've got a system I'm putting together to handle IVR calls with *
I have one head system that terminates two PRIs. It routes the calls from
the PRIs to * boxes using IAX I'm planning on having four or five * boxes.
The * boxes run AGI scripts to process the IVR calls. Can I load balance the
routing if I have five calls each of the IVR * boxes gets two call and the
next call would go to the system that curr...

FAX over PRI
We are doing this with the latest spandsp, iaxmodem and hylafax.
Seems to work very well for us so far.

PRI maintenance commands
With multiple inbound PRIs (and hunting across them) coming to multiple
[asterisk] servers it is important to be able to do administration, i.e.
control which PRIs in the same hunt group take (and which don't take)
calls from telco at any given period of time.
Our pre-asterisk platform uses SERVICE commands for this pur...

AS5300 and Asterisk
Hey all,
I have an as5300 I use for dial in customers, we have 4 PRIs on it.
We have a few free channels on it. I'm wondering if I setup SIP on the
as5300 I can have asterisk use the free channels for dial out.
I'd still have to use my TDM04B for incoming calls, but at least I can
expand my outgoing.
Anyone done anything like this before? I've never...

Norstar MICS
...ut * between the telco and the Nortel
PBX. How do I set up dialing out a PRI from * to the Nortel and sending
the 4 digits so that the legacy phone system knows which extension to
route the call to?
Am I thinking about this wrong? It seems to me that I need to buy a
4-port T1 card, take in the 2 PRIs on two of the ports, do the * magic,
and output 2 PRIs on the other 2 ports, thereby connecting the Nortel
and * and the P$TN. Has anyone actually done this?
Can it work? I really don't want to lie... If I need to present the
plan as replacing the entire system all at once, that's fine,...

DTMF between sip trunks and PRIs
Hi,
I'm looking for some advice on how to solve DTMF issues.
I have 2 boxes, one which is the connection to the PSTN (PSTN) through
PRIs and SIP trunks, and a second (PBX) which has UAs registered to
it.
We have a customer that has an existing pbx that we trunk analog lines
to using a GXW-4008.
The GXW is set to dtmfmode inband. This seems to provide the best outbound DTMF.
The issue I'm currently having is with inbound DTMF.

PRI failover to SIP trunk
Hello,
I've found a little documentation on voip-info and on the asterisk-
users list, although I was hoping for an example of a tried-and-true
failover setup between PRI and SIP.
We are an outgoing call center that uses asterisk 1.4 connected to 2
PRIs from the local telephone company in one group (g1) and a SIP
trunk from bandwidth.com. The PRIs are the primary outgoing service,
however we have been experiencing some issues where one or both of
them can fail randomly. We are working with the telephone company to
have this resolved.
In t...

Qwest PRIs
Hi,
I'm trying to bring up two PRIs from qwest with asterisk and dahdi. I'm
using an OpenVox D410E and the drivers are loaded. My system.conf looks
like this:

span=1,2,0,esf,b8zs
bchan=1-24

SIP.Conf - bindaddr per peer?
hI,
Trying to understand how to setup two PRIs in sip.conf. Using Asterisk
1.4.23.
I have a provider giving me two PRI (different rate centers) through SIP.
Both PRI comes in from the same IP on the provider side, but go to two
different IPs (both on the same box) on my side.
How can I setup two different SIP peer, one for each of the P...

CLID Presentation & Billing Number | Diversion vs. Remote-Party-ID vs. P-Asserted-Id vs. From vs. P-Charge-info
We would like to present a toll free CallerID when making outbound toll
calls. In the past, when our PRIs were directly connected to a Nortel
CS1000 we could do this, without issue. Now that the PRIs are front ended
by a mediagateway facing asterisk, we can no longer do this.
Is it possible to set the billing number via a SIP header and set what
should be presented as callerid as another header for p...

Asterisk, PBX, VoIP and PRI
...to the list, so I apologize if this is a trite
question. We're an ISP with a barely used PRI, and also currently use
asterisk with POTS service on an audiocodes gateway. We have a notion
that we want to take on a new revenue stream, with our model being as
such:
1) Convert one of our PRIs into a two way voice/data bundle.
2) Plug this PRI into a piece of equipment (AS5300?) which can
terminate both PPP, *AND* feed our Asterisk system. We'd transfer our
POTS service over to the PRI and pick up the SIP signaling there.
3) In the extended model, use this setup to resel...

PRI and echocancel
Hello,
I have a crossover PRI(Asterisk server to PBX) and a regular telco PRI T1
line and currently have echocancel=yes and echocancelwhenbridged=yes on
those spans in zapata.conf. I was discussing CPU load with another Asterisk
user and he mentioned that PRIs don't need echo cancelation and that turning
it off will reduced CPU load on the server. I checked many sample configs
and the archives and noticed that half of the people have echocancel on for
PRIs and half do not. I checked the Digium site and indeed in the FAQ they
say: "There should a...

Really Get 96 Simul Calls?
...wap Powersupply, one 64bit 133Mhz
PCI and one 64bit 100Mhz PCI for about $3,000.
Tack on a 4 port Digium card and you have a Cisco AS5300 that can do FAR
MORE for $15,000 less.
I just need to know if this machine can support 96 simul calls in all kinds
of configurations:
Ex 1: 48 calls come into PRIs 1&2 and I send them back out PRIs 3&4.
Ex 2: 96 calls come into PRIs 1-4 and I send them all out over ethernet via
SIP to a carrier.
Ex 2a: All outgoing 96 calls as SIP are G711.
Ex 2b: All outgoing 96 calls as SIP are G729.
Ex 3: 96 calls come in via SIP (some 711, some 729) from carrier a...
