Printsharing and Drivers for 2000/98/95
Hi All, I'm attempting to set up print-sharing on a Samba 2.2.7 running on Redhat 7.3. Both 98 and 2000 clients can print fine and dandy if I install the drivers I downloaded from HP (I'm using a LaserJet 5MP for reference). printing in dos slows
...s to the linux box, you will see an indicator of spooled bytes. Once it is submitted it prints right away. Is there a way I can speed this up a little bit. My clients are complaining about this. I tried options of print directly to printer, but it is the same result. I use the net use lpt1 \\server\printshare option to make dos apps print work. Any help or link is highly appreciated. Thank you. Dominic Y. Deferia

The other computers that are working just fine are Win98, XP and Win2K NOT sp4. Here is part of the global section: printing = bsd load printers = yes disable spoolss = yes printcap name

Hi there, We have a little intranetwork with Samba 3.0.x as PDC. There are 20 Win2k-clients in several rooms and 18 users roaming from one machine to another (according to their tasks). So any user has a roaming profile. This runs almost perfect (some minor problems are still there, but the the advantages are overwelming). But there is one thing, I can't understand. Why does Win2k saves

copy d:\bugs.ps \\ouessant\lexmark after having deleted all the samba log files and restarted the SMBd daemon from the SWAT Web interface. This leads to the INTERNAL ERROR, see samba.oulx Now, to locate the problem, I tried the same kind of command on the same file, bugs.ps, but using the SMBCLIENT application from the Linux server itself, without changing anything, nor restarting the SMBd
