not force-user'ing while printing?
...solution. * since the clients in the LAN still are all Windows NT 4, samba is supposed to provide print services to everyone around. Problem: I set up one user to fax through capisuite, and I actually intended to set up a printer in samba, doing something, like [printers] ... force user = printfax force group = printfax ... to assign all print jobs to the fax user. For short: This is not working; testparm doesn't complain but yet the "force ..." directives are simply ignored, print jobs always started using the user account that was starting the job at the workstation. Fax from Widows
...ot addressed by this software, which I'm hoping maybe I can pay someone to hack into the windows code. I need Respond to send a cover letter prior to being sent out, independent of the program queueing the print job in windows. I was thinking I might be able to put this functionalty into the printfax.pl script if I understood how SMB works better. Either way, I could use either a fix on the windows end (which I can't write) or some pointers on linux end. fax serving
Newbie question: I have successfully set up a samba server for file & print sharing. What I'm not sure about is how to set up a fax server. Has anyone tried to do this? What all do you have to do, or maybe you could just point me in the right direction. =========================================== Charles Lewis, Director of Administrative Computing Southwestern Adventist University,
