Hello list, I upgraded from Samba3.0.1 to Samba3.0.2rc1 and got now following problems: LaserJet printers 6MP (sorry, we have no other LaserJet printermodels) now couse the application to crash. With Samba3.0.1 there was no probem with that kind of Printers. I use the RPM's from ftp.sernet.de for SLES8. Printingsystem is CUPS, with raw printing and serverbased printerdrivers. Has anyone an idea how to fix that problem? MfG Stefan

...the windows 2000 resource kit. The printers are shared by a samba 2.2.8a, spoolingsystem is Cups. We are using the windows drivers to process the job, the queues are set as raw-queues on cups. For some models[1] setting the properties via a dumped file works without any Problems. For some other printermodels[2] it doesn't work, the properties are not saved on the samba-server. If we set the propertiess once by hand the script works and samba is storing the properties from the dumped file correctly. I have searched around the samba documentation, including the smb.conf man page, and have found nothing regarding the cups printing system except change printcap to cups. Now, I have done that, but printing still does not work. I need some types of details and a sample smb.conf and/or any other relevant documentation. Thanks much, George D. Plymale

OK, I've tried changing my printcap name from printcap to cups. Printing works fine locally using CUPS on the Samba box. What am I missing here? Why can't I print to the Samba box via the Windows and linux clients? Shared directories work fine. I am really frustrated here and have exhausted Google and all other resources I have. Here's my smb.conf for what it's worth.
