Locked prf files within Roaming Profiles
Hello everybody,
we have the following problem here:
We've set up a complete samba domain (based on 3.0.20 now) which
is running very fine including ldap backend.
But we've still problems using roaming profiles (especially prf*tmp) files.
We already tested the veto oplock directive with /prf*.tmp/ and even /*.tmp/
but these files remain always locked. Only "root" can delete them.
Here's the smb.conf of the share, were profiles are stored:

having problems with prf*.tmp files and samba pdc
hello list,
i use samba 2.2 with roaming profiles and windows xp/2000. when windows
client logs in into domain and downloads the profile, i get often the
"access denied" error, if windows downloads a new file.
as i found out, windows downloads a file first as a prf<something>.tmp file
and then renames it and that failes because access is denied then.
i tried to add a line veto oplock files = /prf*.tmp/ in smb.conf global
section (i don't have a profile share, profiles are created unter
$HOME_DIR/profile, but thats ok), deleted all prf*.tmp files on...

Roaming profiles brings error with prf*.tmp files
...Apple OSX 10.3.4 Opendirectory (LDAP) Server with an SAMBA
(3.0.2) PDC Server with roaming profiles for Windows XP (SP1 Prof) Clients
on the Server. The Share for the PCs is only shared with SMB.
When a PC log off, the profile will be copied to the server and brings the
error message that the files prf*.tmp can?t be copied to the server.
This error message occours not every time and only on large windows profiles
(bigger ca. 50 MB). The transfer to the server is very slow when the files
will be copied.
The problem occours on different Windows XP SP1 machines.
Is this a trouble on the server or on...

No, this is not intentional, it's a bug in the hmac_sha512
implementation in nolegacy/prf.c. I'll fix this.

prf*.tmp in samba-profiles
Hello list,
sometimes, when a user logs off, not ntuser.dat, but prf4EC.tmp, prf4ED,

Does anyone have this problem, too?

Moving the Home dir to new server
I have a new Centos installation that has an empty /home dir and there
are no users...just root. I want to move the home directory from
another server to the new one. At this time the old /home directory has
been tarred with "-prf". That will keep permissions which could be a
problem.
Is there a simple way to move the /home directory? And the non-system
users in the password and group files?

The FreeBSD server works great, no problems. The linux server works great

WG: Samba PDC and big files
Hello,
If I understand it right you want to have the same Outlook profile for the
users
no matter on which workstation they login?
The first thing all user must have the same Version of Outlook!!!!! And use
an IMAP SERVER
Then you must work with prf files for outlook for eauch user in your
netlogon path of samba
I am working with kixstart. On sigining in each user get his pref file. You
can download files from
Microsoft.
Snipp of a prf-file outlook 2003, see section Account1 for settings.
Example, see Service1 for the
