I have a data set with seven inputs. Four of which are categorical. For my midterm, my professor wants us to scale all the inputs. This means, I pressume, that I have to use 'recode' or 'factor' to transform the categorical data in numerical. For example, one input variable is 'race=(b,w,h,o)'. I just want to assign a numerical value to all 'b,w,h,o'. I

yum was unable to find and install netatalk, so i used RH9 package. It successfully installed, but didn't started. Dmesg showed me that some module is missing. I pressume I will need to compile new kernel, right ? Best Regards Kuba

Although i received lots of emails saying that installation under Linux / Unix is easy .... still emails asking for help in installing R itself, or external packages and such crop more often than not on the list and for this reason i pressumed it is harder to install under Linux

It should. I just tried it out my own instructions after letting them go a few days. I didn't want them fresh in my mind. I simply copied the configs and played dumb (not too hard). You would essentially need to put the delay before the call ever reaches asterisk. So this problem isn't asterisk related... if I've understood your question and the answer I found correctly.
