samba print server client job queues.
Hello, I'm working on setting up a corporate print server with samba 3.2.0-2.17 on a Fedora 9 install. I've been able to get the services up and running and added several printers via the cups interface, also been able to upload the windows drivers. This all works well, printing also works well. The problem that I am running into is that the old print jobs seem to be getting stored

Spool files not deleted when "printing = cups"
We're using the built-in CUPS interface for printing from Samba and this, as shipped, leaves the spool files in the directory defined by [printers] path = whatever in smb.conf. Other printing types typically explicitely delete these files as part of the print command but the CUPS interface doesn't offer any facility to do this. A possible solution is, as in the attached patch, to delete

Cups, samba and temporary print files
This is probably more of a Cups issue, however, I have a question about the spool files from sharing Cups printers in Samba. The spool directory on my Samba server seems to be holding print job files from past print jobs. I'm wondering what is the proper way to eliminate these files? Any help is appreciated. Tim

/var/spool/samba full of print jobs
Hi, madly looking for an answer to this but haven't found it in the smb.conf man pages yet... I'm using samba for my print server. I use printing = cups with samba. Currently it looks like all print jobs are being retained in /var/spool/samba and it has just filled my var fs :-( and no one can print. I can't seem to find any parameters associated with pruning the jobs, or how long

cannot setup print in w2k on debian/samba/winwind/cups server
hi. I am trying to get print working and have a hard time indeed... My goal is to replace our nt4 print server with a linux/samba one as we have problems serving printers and drivers to win2000 workstations (and I don't want to set up a win2000 server for printing, and have the same problem _again_ when switching to XP ;-) The situation so far : - Debian woody - Samba 2.2.4-1 - Winbind

What am I missing here?!
OK, I've tried changing my printcap name from printcap to cups. Printing works fine locally using CUPS on the Samba box. What am I missing here? Why can't I print to the Samba box via the Windows and linux clients? Shared directories work fine. I am really frustrated here and have exhausted Google and all other resources I have. Here's my smb.conf for what it's worth.

Printing problem, CUPS
Hi, I have a wierd problem regarding printing. I use the CUPS-backend on a debian-box to share printers with samba. Sometimes for no apperently reason, a win-box (XP-home) just can't print after a reboot... and no matter how many reboots the win-box makes it just stops working, and dosen't work until samba is restartet.... and its not a samba crash, because other win-boxes prints

Cups printers. Won't print first page! sometimes not atall.
Hi, I use Samba and cups on my debian-box to share printers, but sometimes, for no apperently reason, windows machines (XP-pro and XP-home), sudently won't print after reboot and this is only solved by a samba restart. Other times the first print after win-reboot, just gets lost, and never apper in the cups-printing log. It's not domain controled, but everyone is mounting their
