...ble to upload the windows drivers. This all works well, printing
also works well.
The problem that I am running into is that the old print jobs
seem to be getting stored somewhere in samba and i've been unable to
figure out how to turn this option off. I've set the
PreserveJobHistory No
PreserveJobFiles No
options in my cupsd.conf file though this does not effect the queues
viewed by the clients, only the jobs viewable via the cups interface.
Even once the jobs have been manually deleted from the queue and no
longer show up when it is opened up, windows still shows job counts in
the printers and...

Spool files not deleted when "printing = cups"
We're using the built-in CUPS interface for printing from Samba and this,
as shipped, leaves the spool files in the directory defined by
[printers]
path = whatever
in smb.conf. Other printing types typically explicitely delete these
files as part of the print command but the CUPS interface doesn't
offer any facility to do this. A possible solution is, as in the
attached patch, to delete

Cups, samba and temporary print files
This is probably more of a Cups issue, however, I have a question about the
spool files from sharing Cups printers in Samba.
The spool directory on my Samba server seems to be holding print job files
from past print jobs. I'm wondering what is the proper way to eliminate
these files?
Any help is appreciated.

page_count x number_of_copies
Hi all!
I have a samba print server which stores information about each job. To
accomplish this, I have set 'printing = sysv' so I can use print command.
Print command passes to a script some info including '%c' (page_count).
The problem is that if someone sends more than one copy of the document,
%c doesn't tell me so.
It means that %c tells exactly the number of pages sent

/var/spool/samba full of print jobs
Hi,
madly looking for an answer to this but haven't
found it in the smb.conf man pages yet...
I'm using samba for my print server. I use
printing = cups with samba.
Currently it looks like all print jobs
are being retained in /var/spool/samba and
it has just filled my var fs :-( and no
one can print. I can't seem to find
any parameters associated with pruning
the jobs, or how long

What am I missing here?!
OK, I've tried changing my printcap name from printcap to cups. Printing
works fine locally using CUPS on the Samba box. What am I missing here? Why
can't I print to the Samba box via the Windows and linux clients? Shared
directories work fine. I am really frustrated here and have exhausted Google
and all other resources I have. Here's my smb.conf for what it's worth.
