trigger for pre and post rsync
Hello:
Please be patient, its hard to me to explain this even in my native
language.
I think it may be useful to add an option like lograte's prerotate and
postrotate, that triggers server side scripts before and after rsync. It
would help the administrator work.

logrotate broken on 4.1
Hi all:
logrotate is broken on my stock 4.1 install. After hunting and
hunting I found there is a bug filed with Redhat on the issue.
logrotate fails becasue my /tmp partition is mounted noexec. I
understand it is that way for security reasons. The box in question
is on a dedicated hosting site and that's the way it was handed off to
me, built.
Some said setting TMPDIR=/var/tmp;export

factanal
# I have a question about how factanal is calculating the regression factor
# scores based on an oblique rotation (promax) of the factors.
#
# As is explained in the help file, regression factor scores are

# However, according to Harman's "Modern Factor Analysis" (e.g. second

Ip route cache problem
Hello,
I need some help about a routing problem on a complex configuration.
The problem is that I can''t reach from services outside from my DMZ.
The scenario is a gateway linked to three internet connections, so that
I used three distinct iproute2 tables for routing. The gw is running
ipvs for balancing over the dmz''s servers.
DMZ servers are on 192.168.1.0/24 network, .

read permission on rotated logs
When logs (e.g. /var/log/maillog) are rotated (e.g. to
/var/log/maillog-YYYYMDD) is there a way via systemd or whatever to
assign read permission to a specific group?
Right now, for example -
ls -l maillog*
-rw------- 1 root root 3105240 Mar 13 22:04 maillog
-rw------- 1 root root 1079031 Feb 24 04:39 maillog-20190224

Is this a common problem?
Thoughts on a typical solution?

Logrotate "firstaction" with non-0 exit status. Or: How to keep logrotate from rotating via scripts?
Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience with the "firstaction"
script in logrotate config files, or more specifically, the behaviour
with a non-0 exit status. The logrotate manpage says:
firstaction/endscript
The lines between firstaction and endscript (both of which must
appear on lines by themselves) are executed (using /bin/sh) once
before all log

Silly logrotate question
Ok, I have Googled this and either I am not asking the right way or I just
can't see what's in front of me (sorry)...
We have log files called app.2011-10-119.log (with the date changing every
day). The log is created by the application each day at midnight.
I have logrotate set to rotate files ending in .log at 4am, with
copytruncate on by default.
If I list the files I see all the old

I've closed that bug now.
Extensive work has been done to add this feature to Samba 4.7, due out
this week:
