Testing window for R 2.13.0
We are now starting testing R 2.13.0/alpba/beta/RC and testing and
feedback would be appreciated (whereas reports on problems immediately
after release will try our patience).
Sources are available at
http://cran.r-project.org/src/base-prerelease/
Windows binaries at
http://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/base/rtest.html
and Mac binaries at http://r.research.att.com/, specifically
http://r.research.att.com/R-2.13-branch-leopard.pkg
(and it is best to use the CRAN master rather than mirrors which will
lag behind).
Please report (success...

CRAN packages maintained by you
..., both of which run FC 5 linux) and
cannot replicate the error message that the Daily Check Summary page
quotes:
"checking R files for syntax errors ... WARNING
Warning in Sys.setlocale(category, locale) :
OS reports request cannot be honored",
Which I get only for the R pre-release (r-prerel) on Linux ix86 and Mac
OS X ix86 versions.
I am actually at a loss as to what the problem might be. My packages
don't use Sys.setlocale() and I am not familiar enough with what this
function does to suggest why it might be causing a problem on the CRAN
servers.
Does anyone have any suggestion...

Query about .check_packages_used_in_examples
G'day all,
looking at
http://cran.at.r-project.org/web/checks/check_results_Sleuth2.html
I noticed that r-prerel-* and r-devel-* issue notes. Apparently, now
examples are more thoroughly checked by R CMD check and the note
pointed out that a package used in the examples was not declared. This
was easily fixed by adding 'Suggests: lattice' to the DESCRIPTION file
(now this change has to migrate throu...

every 2nd echo-request malformed when ping -s >4067
Hello,
while checking new mtu9k-setup, I discovered that ping has some odd
behaviour.
If I use payloadsize > 4067, every 2nd icmp-echo-request seems to be
malformed:
